Just watching Kia NBA Shootaround, they announced that the Pistons have traded Nazr Mohammed to Charlotte for Primoz Brezec and Walter Herrmann.
I love this trade for both teams, it makes a lot of sense. Charlotte brings in an upgrade at the 5-spot and a guy that can really help them out on the boards, while Detroit gets rid of Nazr's contract and brings in two expiring deals. Not to mention, Herrmann can play. He can play both forward positions, and he could surprise. I give the edge to Detroit because of the financial edge of taking back two expiring contracts for Nazr, but I do like it for both clubs.

Is Nazr really an upgrade over Brezek? I think Detroit got the best of this deal, bigtime. As you said, Herrman can really play, and he's got some size to him.

Good move Joe D! He saved the Pistons in salary and gives them flexibility. The Pistons also released Ronald Dupree from the squad to make room for when Rodney Stuckey returns to play for the Pistons.

Nazr is gonna be a bust, like he always is. Hermann will be solid, and the money thing worls to. Detroit wins this easily.

Nazr was a starter for a championship team, Charlotte did very well for themselves even if they did give up Hermann.

QUOTE (GM3)

Nazr was a starter for a championship team,

So was Samaki Walker

With this move, Dumars gets his spot on FBI's Most Wanted list, because this has robbery written all over it. You aren't losing much in getting Brezec while giving up Nazr, but w/ Hermann, Dumars just upgraded his team a pretty good amount. Ugh...........I wanted Hermann in purple and gold.

Herrmann could really give the Pistons a huge boost the 2nd half of the season. I love this deal for the Pistons (when do you ever not hear that) and Joe D is one heck of a GM.
