Points are up from 17.7 to 23.7

Rebounds are up from 12.3 to 15.4

Blocks are up from 1.9 to 2.7

Only second (.621) in the NBA in FG% behind Biendris (.631)

The Magic have slowed down but he hasn't and I doubt he will. I don't think he will win it but if he doesn't get some votes I will seriously question the voters.

Our very own Darrel Armstrong won 6th man of the year and MIP. So I can't see why not.

Yeah he won't win the MIP since we all expected this from him. And the MIP doesn't matter anyways.

He'll win the MVP award. (i think)

He has to be the front-runner for the MVP award at this point.

Chris Kaman should be top 3 for MIP considerations.

I agree 100% with shape. As of today, I think Chris Kaman should be the frontrunner for Most Improved. Also, while I'm a Celtics fan and want KG to win it, I'm not arguing the fact that Howard should be the frontrunner for MVP. He has been out of this world and Orlando started off with an unexpected bang.

I'll also say that whether KG wins MVP or not, it would be an absolute travesty if he doesn't run away with Defensive Player of the Year.

I agree with CB32. You may have to give the award to KG if the Celtics have a complete godly season.

You're right peg, he deserves most of the credit for our defense.

I think if KG gets the MVP instead of DHoward at this point it would be robbery. Coming into the season with the exception of the Spurs the Celtics have been favorites to win the title. While everyone expected Orlando to improve with the addition of Rashard Lewis, I don't think very many people expected Howard to improve in every facet of his game and become the truly dominate force he has proven to be over the first half of the season. Howard is the MVP hands down in my opinion.

I doubt it just because usually the MIP goes to a no-name who became a very solid player of a decent role palyer who became a near star. Rarely is it a stud who becomes studlier.

Kaman and Bynum would probably be ahead of Dwight.

I don't think Dwight is the best candidate on his own team.

What about Hedo Turkoglu, who figured to see less time this season since the team brought in a high profile player at max money to play his position?

That hasn't happened. He has been so good that he has earned more minutes, and I think he's a major reason the Magic are winning.

    He's also beating well-established career averages by 9ppg, 2rpg and 2apg.

He's also a pretty good defensive player who causes nightmares for opponents who have trouble matching up with a 6'10" SG.

I think Kaman is my favorite right now (Even though Brand's injury helped him out, he looks like a completely different player. Amazing!), but I'd put Hedo right up there with him.

As of right now, I'd say this is what the awards should look like:

    MVP: Dwight Howard
Rookie of the Year: Kevin Durant (Horford right on his ass, though)
Most Improved Player of the Year: Chris Kaman
Sixth Man of the Year: Manu Ginobili
Defensive Player of the Year: Kevin Garnett
Coach of the Year: Honestly should be Tom Thibodeau, but I'd go with Stan Van Gundy because of how his team has played on the road thus far. I do think Doc Rivers will win this award, though.

Sexy White Boy of the Year: Brian Scalabrine

Word....Bron and Howard have impressed me the most this season.......as all of you know I'm probably the biggest Hakeem dick rider around these parts, but I can honestly say that if Dwight gets some sort of jump shot that he could possibly be better than Dream..................that's scary for the NBA....
