QUOTE

In a USA Today profile, Richard Jefferson again talks about how much of a role off-season rest has played in his revived game. RJ, who is the conference’s second leading scorer behind Lebron James, says the last two years have been difficult. Health problems contributed to a lack of passion. Now, he’s just happy to be healthy.

This is probably why Kidd is going hardcore for an extension, he's probably feeling fatigued. When his stats drop, the media will be all over it, Kidd is over the hill, Kidd knows it, once that hits mainstream, he won't be sniffing an extension, after this contract is done, he's working year to year.
