Yeah 5 would be good for now. I actually never thought it was a problem to include all the quotes and if you didn't like it you could have deleted while replying, it only takes a second to do it.
I thought that the nested quotes on the old S2 were great, but people had complaints that it became too verbose and when you get too deep, it's not necessary to include it all. I see the argument both ways, and this setup seems like a good compromise. I don't have an issue with bumping it up to 5.
The pips are an indication of how many posts you have. Like 3,900 gets you 3 pips, I guess. At least, this is my understanding.
How about in your profile, where it says things like last visited and friends, some member names show up, but others it just says the time and date, instead of their name?
I don't think so, because if you scroll over the link, you can see who it is by the URL. Usually the pictures show, though. Like I can't see GMJigga's name, but I can see his Toine picture, or I can see your German flag.
There seems to be some lost utility- like seeing who started a thread, seeing the forum's posts at the bottom of each page of a thread, fewer recent posts on the first page. But quoting from multiple posts seems really cool- do they have to be from the same page? I also like that you can now see the thread when you're replying. And why not include all the nested quotes? Is there an option to increase number of posts per page like there was at BBB now?

(lot of options) Hopefully that helps.
I just have a question about the stars on profiles? Is it supposed to be a rating system? I was looking around, and not to complain or anything, but I find it odd how all the Nets guys have a five star rating, and how I somehow ended up with a one star rating

I don't really see the point of having the rating system when anyone can go onto someone's profile and give them whichever rating they choose without any explanation. There's no point really, or at least that's just my opinion

For the rating system I think it would be best if when one rates a user, he or she must give an explanation as to why that user deserves that particular rating.
