I think you've got to include Mullin with Dumars and Colangelo. I don't think anyone has turned a franchise around as quickly as him. Especially considering he made serious mistakes as a rookie GM, signing Murphy, Dunleavy, Foyle, Fisher, And J-Rich to huge contracts. He learned from his errors and is now, in my opinion, on of the best in the league.

Think about this: Which GM has won 3 championships the past 5 years? That's definitely one that should be on your list.

I think people are underrating Kevin Pritchard in Portland. He would probably be higher on some lists if the Zach trade wasn't viewed as so lopsided in the Knicks favor. However, I have heard that there was a deadline to trade Zach from above and KP did the best he could as other deals fell apart.

Wow. I'll be honest, I didn't really think of him. I mean, he got Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Przybilla, Jack. And then he signed Blake, which was solid as hell. He got McMillan in Portland, which IMO was a GREAT move. Add him to my list.

What do people think of Riley? I mean, he got Shaq, drafted Wade, signed Haslem, got a mess of guys, and got a championship...

But then really messed up this season. What do people think about him? Personally, I'm not sure I'd like him as my team's GM.

I was going to say the same thing about Pritchard. He's done one of the better rebuilding jobs I've seen in recent years.

I'd rank the top GM's like this:

    RC Buford
    Bryan Colangelo
    Joe Dumars
    Kevin Pritchard
    Ernie Grunfeld

If Pritchard can figure out how to keep the team together in two or three years when EVERYBODY is a free agent, he goes at the top of the list.

Danny Ainge and Kevin McHale should be co-execs of the year for Boston this season. Imagine two GM's coming together and deciding to combine their resources on one team and win a championship...
