This is my first season of being interested in American Football, I was watching Total Access and they said about Green Bay and Dallas and homefield avantage. Can someone explain please?
Whichever team ends up with a better record, will have homefield advantage, meaning they'll play the playoff games at home. But if they end up with the same records then Dallas gets the homefield advantage since they won in their game versus Green Bay, and that counts against the Packers. Hope that helps Hudge.

The NFL playoffs are set up as follows. Each conference gets 6 teams in the playoffs. The 4 division winners and 2 wild card teams. The division winners with the top 2 records get a first round bye and will each have the home field in the second round. For the Conference Championship (3rd round), home field goes to the team with the best record.

If both teams end up with the same exact record, Dallas will have home field advantage. Thats because Dallas beat Green Bay. If Green Bay ends up with a better record they get home field advantage.
