Wow, amazing. Big O is my favorite old school player--is that him in the last picture (bottom right corner)? Also, do I see Tiny Nate in the picture right above it (top right corner)? On another note...Pat Riley had a handlebar mustache? AWESOME.
Interesting factoid... When the Lakers played the Knicks, Phil Jackson would play against Pat Riley (as players) when the 2nd stringers got to play. Two of the all-time great coaches, but they weren't all that great as players. I do think that having been players they relate better to the players they coach.

It is interesting to see how the more successful coaches in the league were simply role players. I think superstar players who try to get into coaching don't have the patience and understanding of why players can't do the same things they were able to do as players. Role players always knew their limitations and can probably spot that in other guys right away and create roles for them to succeed in instead of forcing them to do something they'll never be good at.

Bob Weiss was on the team the previous system, and he was a head coach at least twice that I remember. Gar Heard was on the team the year before that, and he was LeBron's first NBA coach, right?
