<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A report in yesterday's Akron Beacon Journal said the Sixers and Cleveland have discussed a possible deal for Andre Miller. An NBA source confirmed yesterday that the teams had talked but said there was no movement toward a deal. -- Philadelphia Inquirer # One trade that would work cap-wise is Miller and (who has four years counting this year and about $19 million left on his contract) for Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Ira Newble. The way Miller is playing right now, that isn't enough. Ed Stefanski said it on the radio and confirmed to me last week that the Sixers will be about $6 million under the cap after the season if no moves are made. -- Philadelphia Inquirer # The Akron Beacon Journal reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers have contacted the Sixers about Andre Miller, but Sixers president/GM Eddie Stefanski said in an e-mail response that there was "nothing there." -- Philadelphia Daily News</div>

I'd love to see Miller with Bron. And with Gooden, if the Cavs don't have to part with him. Alley-oops, galore!

They are stacked on the wing, Hughes wouldn't run that offense any better than Miller (in fact, a lot worse), and it doesn't make any sense financially either. Miller has two years remaining on his contract, while Hughes has three years remaining on his for $3+ million more per year. Miller isn't what Cleveland needs, either. Cleveland doesn't need a playmaker who can't shoot the ball, they need a guy to come in and help out with spacing. LeBron is going to dominate the ball no matter what. They need guys to relieve pressure off of him by keeping the defense honest. Put Miller on that team, they'll sag off of him while LeBron operates and once he makes his move they will collapse on him. Why? Because they know that LeBron is going to hit the open man. If Andre Miller is the open man, they'll give him that shot all day.
