Serious trade talk typically doesn't begin until January in the NBA, but logic would suggest Chicago Bulls general manager John Paxson is ready to explore ways to trade center Ben Wallace.

The Bulls would have to pay a premium, but one positive is that his contract was front-loaded, which means from the original $60 million deal, he's owed $28.5 million over the next two seasons.

"Change is not always bad," Wallace said after Saturday's dismal 116-98 home loss to Houston. "If everybody wants to be here, we have to step it up."

The most obvious trade targets for the Bulls are New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd and Memphis Grizzlies center Pau Gasol.

It all depends on whether the Nets are willing to take something like Hinrich and Wallace for Kidd. Bulls should be able to do something like Hinrich, PJ Brown, and Khryapa for Kidd, and the salaries should balance.

Bulls would definitely be looking to have both Gordon/Deng stil lthere with Kidd (and Thomas and Noah). A guy like Kidd that could find these guys in good scoring position would help this team tons. Then I guess you keep Duhon in the wings to take over as the starter when Kidd leaves.

Hinrich? Yeah, you can keep him.

If the Nets take back Wallace the Bulls would need to send Noah or Tyrus or Ben Gordon back.

Why would the Nets want Wallace? They already have Collins.

Hinrich, Gordon and Deng for Carter and Kidd. DO IT THRON!

I doubt any thing's gonna happen between the Nets and the Bulls.

So pretty much Kidd for Hinrich. why would the Nets do that?

Well, if the Nets were to conclude they have to trade Kidd, they could do worse than Hinrich.

As a Bulls fan, I'd want to kill myself if we did that. Obviously Kidd is the better player, but it's not like he's going to win us a title in the next year or two before he falls apart.

At what age did Stockton fall apart?

Kidd is the type that is only as young as the woman he feels and by all accounts he has been feeling some pretty young women.

Paxson on the radio this morning sounded like Ben Wallace's ass is getting shipped out of town. Yet it sounded like Wallace still has some value around the league (idiot gm's). He also mentioned about how hard making a trade was, and specifically mentioned Kirk Hinrich being BYC. So obviously he went out of his way to mention Hinrich.

Maybe something like Kirk Hinrich, Ben Wallace, Thabo Sefolosha, and draft picks for Kidd.

Not sure if Paxson would be willing to trade Aaron Gray, but he might have enough value to nudge the Nets over, and Paxson still keeps his two favorite bigs.

It just depends on whether or not the Nets decide they are going to keep Kidd, or trade him. I think its not a big mystery that Paxson likes Gordon a whole lot, and Kidd is the type of big point guard that will allow Gordon to be Gordon his best.

That would be completely pointless for the Nets
