I love what I'm seeing from him. I disagree with Dave D because I don't think he will be a starter but he will be a good bench big.

Last night he positioned himself for rebounds and played some good D early on. Best of all he taking minutes away from Malik Allen.

Please don't let this thread go in the wrong direction.

    Solid player.

He makes plenty of mistakes, but at least he produces something.

Other teams always seem to come up with players like this, but the Nets can't get a break when it comes to their bigs.

What I like is that he now looks awake at all times.

Im liking what i am seeing so far except for one aspect of his game: freethrow shooting. He would be a lot more effective and helpful to this team if he shot it at 70% instead of what he is averaging now(30%?).

I don't know whats wrong with his FT shooting, last night they mentioned that his technique is good but its just not going in. Has to be mental.

He shot over 50% from the line last year which is bad but not as bad as this year, under 30%.

    26%.

I'm going to make a bold prediction.

It's almost impossible to shoot that badly for a whole season. There are plenty of eight year olds who can double (some can even triple) that mark.

I think he'll make it to 50% by the end of the season.

    For the season, he's 14 of 53, or 26.4%

Over his four starts he's putting up 11.8 PPG (at 54% shooting), 8.3 RPG, 1.8 APG, .8 BLG and 29.2% FT. Not bad at all, especially considering what the Nets have been getting out of their bigs.

Looking at last night's game versus Detroit, it was easy to see the benefits of having a player like Boone in our starting line up. His ability to score the basket better than Collins can is almost invaluable to us right now; his activeness on put backs as well. However, although he's better than Collins, he's still not at a consistent level where I can see him being a prolonged starter; there are just too many times where he's blowing layups, if not multiple attempts at trying to get the ball in the basket.

h's averaging 12/8/2/1 as a starter in his second year? not too bad. I don't see 15/10 as out of the question, maybe not this season, but soon enough.

I like the fact that he's learning how to play with Kidd and Vince. Whenever they penetrate to the basket he actually roles towards the ball so they can find him for an easy bucket. Something Ian or Jim pointed out last night when he caught a Vince pass and layed it in.

Yeah there the same guys calling Marcus Williams a bust now...

How is it the guy can average 12 and 8 as a second year starter and still people believe he is not a long term starter? He can only get better with more experience...jump his ft% to 50% and finish around the basket better and he'll easily get 15 a game. He's a double double player.

Well it is easier for people to attack than to look and see the things that one does.

I know Josh personally and know what he is going to do trust me Boonezellia or Boonshakalka is going to be a very good starter and a double double guy. Josh takes pride in his work sometimes he is too hard on himself, he will be very good.

How dare you insult Josh Boone by comparing him to the worst player in the NBA. Collins is a big waste of space.

Boone is light years ahead right now.

    yeah, BY YOU.

anyways, i want to se him develop a jumper or post move. he can rebound and block shots and runs the pick and roll to perfections (teams still can;t figure that out yet) BUT he needs to develop a go to move. if he can stay healthy this year and offseason, i hope he develops something other then relying on passes.

Boone is still very unskilled, but he's so active that it makes up for it. He reminds me of Varejao.

I was strongly against the Nets taking him and never liked him, but I'm glad he's paying off, he's been great for us.
