Warriors have a huge $10 million trade exception and I doubt Mullin is going to let it expire. I can see Golden State going after Mike Miller if Memphis decides to trade Pau.

I don't think it will be used unless we're getting a big expiring contract back. Maybe we trade for Jason Williams? Who else is expiring? We just don't have the cap flexibility to take on another long term contract if we want to keep Monta and Biedrins. I would love to get Mike Miller, but like I said it would hinder our ability to hold onto Monta and Biedrins in the offseason, plus I think the front office is still confident that Belinelli can become a Mike Miller type player.

I would love to go after Pau though. His value is at an all time low right now. I wonder if we could nab him for Al, Pietrus (expiring), POB and our 08 first round pick. Probably wouldn't give Biedrins, Monta, or Wright for him because hes playing so poorly right now, but I'd give our pick unprotected. He would help our lineup a lot and although hes got a huge contract we should be able to absorb it better while shipping off Al's large contract.

I don't see the exception being used at all. For one thing, we are about a mil or two away from luxury tax threshold, and I don't think Cohan will pay any luxury tax. Then, as BMJ mentioned, we need a financial flexibility to resign both Biedrins and Monta. So, if we ever accept any contract, it will be an expiring contract...

Too bad we can't combine the exception and dump some players so we can take a 9 mil per year type deal... Mike Miller would be an awesome trade if we could get him. In a sense, it would be like having another Stephen Jackson on offense.

I can imagine Nelly doing this:

    1.) Baron Davis
    2.) Ellis
    3.) Mike Miller
    4.) Stephen Jackson
    5.) Al Harrington

It's still the same in terms of rebounding I think (maybe a bit better since Miller is a pretty good rebounder who can leap). That would pretty much put Belinelli further towards the end of the roster because Miller is a guy who can shoot, make his free throws, and he can play some point guard at duty.

There isn't really anyone worth using it on unless they could get someone like Pau Gasol.

Shape, you can't combine TEs with players to get players.

I know. Doesn't Gasol make around $12M or so?
