When did Phillip Rivers become such a superstar that he can badmouth other players? Do you get to badmouth younger QBs, who have better passer ratings, just because your riding the coattails of one of the great RBs in the NFL? I think Champ Bailey said it best. "You're (Rivers) surrounded by great players, but you're not a great player. I think he needs to understand where he stands in this league -- where he stands on his team first and foremost." Here's the video. Here's the article.

I will make sure I get my own trash talk in on him. They had better double Derrick Burgess at the edge....
I guess it just struck me wrong because I haven't been impressed with River's level of play this year. He should worry more about elevating his play to match the level of play of his team rather than running his mouth. That's just my opinion.
I don't think he is "running his mouth". It was one isolated incident. There is so much trash talk on the field, why single out Rivers? Because it was caught on tape?

It caught my attention because I thought it seemed out of character for Rivers, but then Darren Sharper said Rivers ran his mouth at the Vikings as well even though the Vikings (Adrian Peterson in particular) stomped a mudhole in their backsides. So, it must have stood out to those covering the game for it to have been pointed out on air and then an article written about it later.
