<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Lakers have made more overtures about acquiring Jason Kidd, but the Nets weren't interested in the offer, according to the New York Post. The Lakers reportedly offered Kwame Brown and his expiring $9 million contract, Jordan Farmar, Sasha Vujacic, Chris Mihm and a No. 1 draft pick. The Lakers weren't willing to make Lamar Odom part of the deal, just as they wouldn't give up Andrew Bynum when the Lakers tried to acquire Kidd last season. The Nuggets, reportedly offering Marcus Camby and draft picks, are considered the front-runners if Kidd is dealt.</div> Source: Riverside Press Enterprises Not sure what Denver is thinking. They are putting a lot of faith in Nene to anchor the frontcourt. Kidd-Iverson backcourt would be entertaining to watch, but I can't see them having much post-season success with the trio of Kidd-Iverson-Melo and no size. I like the low-ball offer the Lakers are trying to make.
Im not a fan of Iverson, Kidd, and Melo on one team... Kidd and Melo would be nice, but throw in iverson and im not liking it that much.
The Denver deal makes no sense for the Nets, seriously the Laker deal may look crappy but its sure better than the Denver offer. Can we have a three way trade that would land the Lakers AI and the Nuggets Kidd...Interesting to say the least.
At least they get two servicable guards, a 1st round pick, 9 million off the books, and a big man with the Lakers deal. I can't see Kidd, Iverson, and Melo co-existing in Denver. Kidd is going to have to collect all those rebounds because of the small frontline! LOL

Camby is arguably their most valuable player because he triggers the fast breaks, plays defense even though he doesn't get a lot of shot attempts, and covers the swiss cheese perimeter defense. The only other players in the league who could possibly replace what Camby brings are Chandler, KG or Sheed and that's about it.
As a Nets fan who doesn't want to see the team blown up, I love that these are the deals on the table.

It will depend on what they end up getting for Kwame and Vujacic's expiring contracts in the off season and who they draft with the 1st round pick. The Nets get an additional $21M off the books for next season since they won't have to pay Kidd. There's a huge talent pool of free agents next summer and the Nets could reload with one signing and make another run with Jefferson, Carter, + superstar free agent (Brand? Arenas?) along with additional depth on the bench with Farmar and Mihm on board. Mihm could replace Magloire and Farmar is an upgrade over both Darrell Armstrong and Eddie Gill. Farmar is solid for the long term. Mihm has struggled, but he's still rusty from not playing the last two seasons. However, he's got a reasonable contract, solid back-up center, and can give you spot starts when needed.
If we don't end up with Jason Kidd, it better not be because we weren't going to give up Lamar Odom in the package. Honestly, a Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant, and Andrew Bynum trio sounds pretty good to me. I do like the fact that the Lakers are starting off low. At least Mitch is smart enough not to offer off our entire roster. Also, if we have to end up choosing between Farmar or Crittenton, I'd definetely choose Crittenton. But if the Nets want him instead of Farmar, then they can have him. Hopefull we'll end up with Kidd in Los Angeles, if not, then I won't be disappointed because I'm really optimistic about this current roster
I came away very impressed with Farmar but I would want the guy with higher potential. Crittenton, Odom and some picks is what I'm really interested in.
F%*# Lamar.... he needs to get traded or cut!!!! I would rather give up Lamar then Farmar. When Lamar has the ball, I can pretty much call it with about 95% consistency that he will do something stupid. And the 3 that he launched at the and of the game vs Suns just killed me and almost cost us the game!
Agreed Doobee. Lamar Odom should not be a deal break by any means. He's been producing with more consistency, but he's still the anti-clutch and we can't afford any letdowns in the post season. Jason Kidd can make up for Odom's rebounding (the only consistent contribution from Odom) plus you get everything else Kidd brings to the table. I'd prefer to keep Farmar ahead of Odom at this point. He's the catalyst for the Bench Mob and he's a gym rat who's willing to work hard to improve his game. We made a huge mistake the last time we traded a player with similar qualities, Caron Butler.
I'm still not sold on Farmar, he's had a rough patch of games. This team's future PG is Crittenton, IMO. As long as Jackson is here coaching, I don't see that changing. Phil is absolutely in love with Critt's game. I wouldn't be willing to move Odom, honestly. I'm fine without Kidd. Since Odom moved back to PF and has gotten his legs under him, he's looked fine. I'm fine with him having a bad shooting night, as long as he is aggressive. The team seems to thrive off of his aggression. Farmar, Kwame, Luke, #1, and Sasha is what I'd offer. Kidd/Fisher/ Kobe/Crittenton Ariza/Radmanovic Odom/Turiaf Bynum/Mihm Back to the rumor, where is Vecsey getting his made up information. The Lakers deal makes no sense, trade both our back up C's?
Well if we do land Jason Kidd, we can always go out and sign Chris Webber (he's still a free agent) as backup since the roster will seem a lot more attractive. And I'm also guessing that we'll be seeing Turiaf at center a couple of times as well, even though I prefer him as a forward. Either way, I wouldn't put much trust in Vecsey...

How about.................. NO! I know how much everybody loves Ronny Turiaf, he seems like a nice fellow, but I don't like him on our ballclub. The team always seems to regress when he's on the floor and he seems to throw the ball over A LOT. I saw trade him, Farmar, Kwame, Mihm, cash, and picks to NJ for Kidd and Malik Allen. Then, waive Allen and sign Webber. Give Webber 15 minutes a game to help give Bynum a breather. Trade anybody except Bynum, Kobe, Javaris, and Ariza for Kidd!
