<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Uncertainty and apprehension appeared in the Lakers’ locker room soon after the trade was announced. The move that brought Trevor Ariza to the Lakers and sent Brian Cook and Maurice Evans to Orlando was met last month with raised eyebrows, even genuine concern, by players who thought the success of the Lakers’ second unit could be affected by losing two peripheral contributors. Trevor Ariza dunks on the Suns' Grant Hill - ClubLakers.comThat unease has gradually faded. Ariza responded to his first start as a Laker with 14 points, seven rebounds and a memorable dunk over Grant Hill in the Lakers’ 122-115 victory on Tuesday over Phoenix. Ariza’s minutes have risen in recent games, while Evans and Cook have seen a decrease in their playing time with the Magic. Evans had one point in six minutes on Wednesday against New York, and Cook did not get onto the court for a fifth consecutive game. After Ariza dunked over Hill, a solitary voice from the courtside seats could be heard over the din of the crowd. “Hey, Grant, will you sign my poster?” a fan yelled derisively. Ariza, who played at Westchester High and one season at UCLA, said he felt more settled with the Lakers with every passing day. “Since I’ve been here, I’m getting my confidence back and starting to be more comfortable,” he said.</div> Source: Club Lakers
From what I have been reading from Real GM, the Magic fans are already saying Brian Cooks sucks, lol.Ariza should be our starter because Walton and Radmanovic have not been doing a great job.Wow I never thought Mitch would trade Brian Cook and get a slasher like Ariza.
No kidding, I thought the Lakers would be stuck with Cook for another 3 seasons. It would be even more hilarious if Mo Evans bolted Orlando and came back to LA after this year. Ariza does look lost at times on the offensive end, but he's done a fantastic job of figuring out how to be effective in the Triangle offense. I always see him getting pointers from Brian Shaw when he's on the bench. I can't wait to see how good this team can be when EVERYONE is finally healthy and playing at their best.
Damn. This is exactly what I expected out of Arize when he came to the Magic, haha. I'm glad he's finally starting to live up to (my) expectations in LA. You guys got a real steal there.
Ariza is a pretty good player. He doesn't really have the best basketball IQ but he gets by on his physical ability. It's encouraging to know he's only 22 and will only continue to get better with a player like Kobe hopefully taking him under his wing and teaching him a few things.

Grant Hill has responded. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Hill has yet to miss a game but needs his share of ice, whether it is for the recent groin strain, his right elbow or his tailbone. The latter came via former Magic teammate Trevor Ariza's dunk over him on Christmas in Los Angeles. "I owe him, Hill said. "I may not get him back in a dunk, but I'll get him back." The Suns leader in charges taken had a point to make to Ariza, too. "It was a nice dunk, but it was an illegal play," said Hill, who was called for a block. "The refs got caught up in the awe of the moment."</div> Source: AZ Central
