I found this very interesting from Espn. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>At this rate it won't be long before the Lakers will have a rivalry with the Phoenix Suns. We can't say that yet, at least not if we adhere to the regulations once set forth by Kobe Bryant. After the Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings in that draining 2002 Western Conference finals, I asked Bryant if the Kings were the Lakers' biggest rivals. He said I couldn't use that word. "They've got to beat us in the playoffs first," Bryant said. "C'mon, you know the rules." So maybe the Lakers' 122-115 victory over the Suns at Staples Center on Christmas Day didn't change the terminology, and maybe Suns coach Mike D'Antoni could afford to say, "This doesn't bother me," seeing how it came in the regular season. But after the Suns bounced the Lakers from the playoffs the past two seasons, the Lakers finally look ready to take a seven-game series from them for the first time since Steve Nash arrived in Phoenix. That's one revelation from this game. The other is that Phil Jackson looks incredibly goofy in a red bow tie. Hopefully it will be banished to the bottom of a dresser drawer</div> There is more if you go to the link. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...&id=3168228
We look good now, but it's an 82 game season. Still way too early to predict anything. ESPN is riding our jocks right now. Watch, once we lose a couple of games everyone is going to jump off the wagon
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Trench @ Dec 29 2007, 04:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I haven't jumped the Wagon in over 20 seasons. Why start now?</div> I'm not talking about you, or anyone on this forum. I'm talking about all the ESPN guys who seem to be on our nuts right now because we're winning. Definetely a change of scenery from a couple of seasons ago
February may not be easy, but I believe we end this season with a pretty favorable schedule, am I correct?
Pretty much but at the end of January and beginning of February we have a brutal schedule. Just look at our schedule. in February. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Thu, Jan 31 @ Detroit FEBRUARY Fri, Feb 1 @ Toronto Sun, Feb 3 @ Washington Tue, Feb 5 @ New Jersey Wed, Feb 6 @ Atlanta Fri, Feb 8 @ Orlando Sun, Feb 10 @ Miami Mon, Feb 11 @ Charlotte Wed, Feb 13 @ Minnesota Tue, Feb 19 Atlanta Wed, Feb 20 @ Phoenix Sat, Feb 23 @ LA Clippers Sun, Feb 24 @ Seattle 9:00</div>
It doesn't look that bad, actually I think it looks pretty easy Fri, Feb 1 @ Toronto - winnable Sun, Feb 3 @ Washington - winnable Tue, Feb 5 @ New Jersey - winnable Wed, Feb 6 @ Atlanta - winnable Fri, Feb 8 @ Orlando - winnable Sun, Feb 10 @ Miami - winnable Mon, Feb 11 @ Charlotte - winnable Wed, Feb 13 @ Minnesota - winnable Tue, Feb 19 Atlanta - winnable Wed, Feb 20 @ Phoenix - loss“ Sat, Feb 23 @ LA Clippers - winnable Sun, Feb 24 @ Seattle - winnable lol. The only team in February that really scares me is Phoenix, and we've already beat them twice this season. The teams we play don't look all that bad, but the considering we'll be on the road for practically the entire month, I guess it makes the games harder. But there are a lot of winnable games on the schedule. It doesn't mean we'll win every single one, obviously. I don't know how being on the road for so long will factor in though, but hopefully it will help this team grow and bond Btw, I'm not stupid. We're not going 11-1, although I wish
PHX will be looking to get revenge and blow us out. I'm more worried about the Suns fans looking to return the favor to the Laker fans in the game.
We tend to lose to the most mediocre teams, but hopefully we could come back with a winning percentage from that road trip.
