Carter is playing 38 minutes per game over the past 10. He is averaging 21.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.8 apg and shooting 20-38 (52.6%) from beyond the arc, 76-163 (46.7%) overall. He also averaging a steal per game. And in spite of his hugely sloppy 9 turnover game last week, he is only averaging 2.0 topg. For the season, Carter is now shooting 39.6% from beyond the arc...the Nets only consistent deep shooter this season.
He was moving better than he had since the opening of the season in the Miami and Golden State games. Hasn't looked as mobile these last two but better than in the majority of games since the ankle sprain. Hopefully he's slowly turning a corner. The article the other day quoted Thorn as saying the ankle still swells on him, and he has good days and bad days. Might be that way for the whole season.:-( Sounds like RJ last year. Still wish they could have given him an extended rest to see if he could get this thing where it won't be bothering him in February and beyond. After the thumb healed, I think his stroke has looked wonderful this season, and I could see him shooting career highs in percentage by year's end if he doesn't suffer another major injury. The offseason work on his shot -- particularly evident in his midrange game off P&Rs -- has paid off.
stats in december: 24ppg 5.5rbs 5asts 46.5%FG 48% 3pt 84% FTs 1.1 STL (2.4TOs ) but that is a very good month, stats wise for vince. looks like hes back to his old self of last year. I think he is still hobbled by the ankle and its very obvious. But his shooting looks pretty good and he seems to have his swagger back (IE the miami game and the golden state game). He is turning it over a lot it seems...due to laziness of the passes and dribbling it up the court. But in crunch time especially, he is playing well and not forcing shots. he is not afriad to pass to the open man and likewise, thank goodness for RJ finding vince those 2 games as well, for hte 3 ball. I think if Vince can put together another 24,5,5 month, the nets will be in better shape.
