Save one half against one of the 3 best teams in the league, the Nets have looked like a much better team the last 5 games than they have at any time this season. No surprise to me that the better -- and seemingly more inspired -- play by the big 3 coincides with the insertion of Boone and Williams into the frontcourt. Offense is looking better, and the second chance points and extra possessions that Boone and Williams are getting for the team are proving huge. It's been especially encouraging to me to see Kidd and Carter displaying emotion in several of the games, as that's been sadly lacking this season. There's a scent of belief and a boost in self-confidence, they are fighting back more after some lapses, and all in all look like a more determined group. Their schedule for the next 5 games is reasonably favorable, with a road game at Orlando looking like the toughest of the bunch. Sure would be nice to see them reel off the next 5 and be 9 of their last 10 when they face the Celtics again in NJ on January 9th. I know. Horse before cart.
Orlando's been on a slide, so that's possible. And possibly now, we could be considered one of the shittier teams in the league...which means that teams might start to underestimate us, and we could steal a few wins against some of the better teams in the league, to get back on our feet and back into the winning mentality and play. Just a thought..
