After the upsetting blowout against the Celtics, I went to ESPN Trade Machine at 2 in the morning and started fooling around. I thought of a 3-Way Deal that would satisfy all 3 teams involved (Lakers, Kings, Bulls, Warriors), and TRULY make us a team that can defeat the Celts. Bulls GAIN: Brad Miller, Mikael Pietrus, Mike Bibby LOSE: Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Joakim Noah Kings GAIN: Vlad Rad, Ben Wallace, Jordan Farmar, Lamar Odom, Lakers 1st Rd. Pick LOSE: Brad Miller, Ron Artest, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Mike Bibby Warriors GAIN: Luke Walton, Lakers 2nd Rd. Pick LOSE Mickael Pietrus Lakers GAIN: Joakim Noah, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Joe Smith, Ron Artest LOSE: Luke Walton, Lamar Odom, Vlad Rad, Jordan Farmar, 1st+2nd Rd. Picks Our Roster: PG Fisher/Crittenton/Karl SG Kobe/Ariza SF Artest/Abdur-Rahim PF Noah/Turiaf/Smith C Bynum/Kwame/Mihm I LOVE IT! We become defensive monsters with that lineup, and may be able to make a push for Kidd buy trading off Noah, Critt, Kwame, and picks. Of course, we would need to take Malik Allen from them as well. With Kobe, Kidd, and Artest, it's safe to say that we are the best defensive team in the league. All we need is a 3pt shooter to spread out defenses. I originally started trying to make a trade with the Warriors and Nets so we can obtain Kidd and Pietrus while getting rid of every Laker I can't stand (less Kwame, we can get rid of his contract after this year). I tried trading LO, Turiaf (seems like a great guy, but every time he gets the ball I'm thinking "turnover"), Farmar (the Nets are going to want him), Vlad Rad (don't really want to get rid of him, but needed contracts to match up), but, I couldn't find a deal that would make all 3 teams better. Still though, the one above may be just what the Lakers need to put them over the top.
I doubt Bulls would do that. I think a good one would be: Javaris Crittenton Ronny Turiaf Lamar Odom for Ron Artest Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Abdur Rahim is out for the year isn't he? I'd love the addition of Ron Artest on the squad, but I don't think the Kings want to deal him to us and take on the contracts of Big Ben, Radman, and Odom. They also just reported Artest might get surgery done on his elbow. Link Turiaf has been inconsistent because his minutes have been erratic. You can't expect a player to play well when he's only getting 15 minutes one night, and 6 minutes the next. I thought Ronny played well in his limited minutes last night, he had 7 points and 4 rebounds in just 10minutes, ZERO turnovers and got to the FT line 3 times. He had that nice block coming out of nowhere.

They lose Big Ben, who has been doing nothing for them, gain a starting PG, who can start in the backcourt with Luol Deng (though it would be much smarter and go small w/ Nocioni at the PF, Deng at SF, Gordon at SG, and Bibby at PG), and gain a more competent center than Wallace in Miller. The only cost for improvement really is Joakim Noah, but to improve, you have to lose part of your future (point and case, Lakers losing Jordan Farmar to pick up Kidd).

If anybody, it would be the Kings that are unhappy with this deal, but they have talked about moving Artest and Bibby to have a completely new look. With Ben Wallace, they have an inside defensive presence, and LO may just need a change in scenery to shine. Also, who wouldn't want Jordan Farmar?
