This made my day. Ya know, it wasn't that inevitable because there had been a lot of talk he was safe until yesterday. Shocked it happened this quick though. Thought it might take days if it were to happen. Bischotti must've really heard a lot of things from players when they were secretly polled.

Kinda early IMO. They should have at least given a chance to sit down with Rex Ryan before he gets dismissed and is out in the open now.

No reason to keep him attached. He's going to interview for this job too. He might even be brought back as DC.
There is also the "What If" factor involved because the Falcons seemed interested also. I believe he would be the best fit as HC next year compared to the rest the Ravens are looking at.

I'm also not so sure Ravens would hire him either even though they're interviewing him. Bisciotti seems to want to find that next great HC and go to great lengths for it too. I kinda want some new blood, than just promoting someone. Hopefully they bring him back as DC. I have a feeling it ends up being Garrett or McDaniels.
IDK... Hiring a coordinator that made a team's offense spectacular sounds very repetitive. I think we've been down that road before. But hey, anything is better than hiring a college coach who eventually leaves. *cough* Bobby Petrino *cough* I'd wouldn't mind Cowher but it's highly doubtful since his name pops up everywhere.

After watching the Petrinos, the Sabans, and now the Rodriguez's, I agree. Can you really blame guys like Parcells for wanting to use "their people"?
Well, we can eliminate McDaniels. He's denied requests from both Falcons and Ravens to interview. Apparently, doesn't wanna become a HC in '08. lol, funny you mention college coaches. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz is on the list and is being mentioned as a dark horse. Though he has ties with the org as he is former assistant HC from '96 to '98
Ferentz is okay. He had some experience at the NFL level. BTW, I kinda figured McDaniels wouldn't go for it because of the thought that some of the defensive players are older than him which would be intimidating.
