While much has been made about how Jason Williams' expiring $8.9 million deal could be attractive to teams looking to clear 2008 cap space, Ricky Davis, too, is at the end of a deal, one that pays $6.8 million this season.

One has to wonder if Davis is even a 2007-08 necessity, or if something should be done before the Feb. 21 trading deadline. After that, the Heat essentially loses his expiring deal as a trade chip. -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel

    # This is not how the Heat or Ricky Davis envisioned the Oct. 24 deal that delivered the offensively gifted swingman and Mark Blount from Minnesota for Antoine Walker, Michael Doleac, Wayne Simien and a lottery-protected first-round draft pick.

"It's tough," Davis said. "I thought I'd be coming here trying to compete for a ring." -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel</div>

You can almost guarantee he'll be traded at some point. The man can still score.

Pietrus for Ricky Davis makes sense.

Davis can hit an open jumper.

Wow, Ricky Davis looks pretty cool there. How old do you think they are, 14?

If he didn't have jib issues, I could see him playing for the Bulls, who need a big scoring guard.

Yeah I think they should try and trade Davis, but not only Davis but get some of these players off this team just as Jwill,Smush even blount if it's possible, and start trying to move in a different direction.

I hope they keep moving in their current direction (losing) [IMG]

Davis is the sort of guy the Bulls will never touch. I look at them (the Bulls) and think they need to figure out a way to get Iguodala and Gasol, and we'll be set.

    You should!

I can't wait to see Ricky Davis on To Catch a Predator: NBA Edition.

I don't think they should make any deals in attempt to save the season. They need win 33 of their remaining 51 games (so 33-18) just to finish with a .500 record at the end of the season. Even if they bring in a Ron Artest and somehow pull that off - which still wouldn't be guaranteed - they don't make it anywhere in the end anyway.

Stand pat this season, ride it out. Let J-Will, Ricky D, and Zo come off the books (combined $18+ million), bring in another young stud with a top 5 pick, and hit a home run in free agency this summer with all that cap room. This free agent class is stacked, people want to play in Miami, and people want to play with Wade. Add another young stud to the mix, the interest increases. One season of agony is better than two or more consecutive seasons of apathy.
