<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>GM Danny Ferry's efforts in the trade market have failed so far. There have been rumors of Larry Hughes being on the trading block recently, but executives around the NBA say he's been on the block for two seasons.

It isn't that the Cavs can't trade Hughes; it's that they can't make a deal in which they'd get better in doing so. Because of his hefty contract, his current value is near junk-bond status. -- Akron Beacon-Journal

    # An e-mailer who's had some good information before wrote last week to say the Bulls and Cavs were discussing Kirk Hinrich and Ben Wallace for Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes.

I've been unable to confirm if there have been such discussions. But I know the Cavs have locker-room and chemistry chaos. Damon Jones and Ira Newble declined to enter games last week, and the Cavs are desperate to deal Hughes. -- Chicago Tribune</div>

This sucks, but perhaps the Cavs need to take a different strategy; they could hire conditioning coaches and shooting coaches to develop Hughes' game to be what they need it to be. If he can improve his 3pt shooting so it is consistent, and perhaps employ some extra injury-prevention methods, he can become the player the Cavs need him to be, of that I am sure.

Larry Hughes is one of those players who got old real quick. All those injuries just killed his career and he's a shell of the player he was in Washington.

Despite his shortcomings we've seen anyone is tradeable in the NBA.
