Not that Nuggets coach George Karl thinks the scales have been tipped in the race for the Northwest Division, but he expressed admiration for Utah's acquisition of sharpshooter Kyle Korver.

"Very disappointed," Karl said. "I was angry yesterday. A lot of cussing. They made a bad situation (possibly) be very good."

"Management stepped in, and I think it's a very positive move for Utah," Karl said. "It's probably a positive move for Philadelphia, too." -- The Denver Post</div>

    WTF

Its a good move but come on now, its not as if Utah acquired Ray Allen. This team still has ways to go before they get back to playing good basketball. A better move would have been a defensive big man instead of a no D playing guard.

George Karl is always searching for reasons to not be confident about his team, and various players on it.

GK: If you think you are going to lose, you usually do, dimwit.

Kyle Korver is only ranked 242 in real production per minute, so it's probably a lousy acquisition for Utah, actually. It's certainly nothing to get worried about if you are a Nuggets fan.

Well the Jazz are probably banking on Korver snapping out of a poor season and playing more like he did last season. I can certainly see why they made the move (they're last in the league in 3 pointers made, I believe). However, like the rest of you, I don't get why Karl's so worried about it.

Yesterday Korver actually looked like he knew what he was doing on defense with his help D and rotating over, something half the Jazz team doesn't know how to do. Korver also had 2 steals and 2 block shots, and fit really well with Boozer and Deron. Next Hornacek anyone?

Korver's a useful player. I loved him as a Sixer. I think he will thrive with Utah because they have two stars in Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer so it will take more pressure off Korver to make plays. The one thing he does well is shoot, and when he gets into rythm, he is practically unstoppable. I remember Iverson used to call him "Sniper." Korver is not a great defensive player by any means, but he hustles and works hard. He may not tip the balance of the division, but he will definetely be a valuable asset for the Jazz.
