<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Nets’ improvement this past week is moving them up big in the power rankings…at least on one website. NBA.com has the Nets jumping four spots to #16, with John Schuhmann pointing out points-in-the-paint scoring. Since Josh Boone and Sean Williams joined the starters, it’s gone from 31.3 per to 41.3. John Hollinger moved the Nets up two spots … to #26 while Marc Stein thinks nothing much has changed at #19. -netsdaily.com</div> John Schuhmann - NBA.com Marc Stein - ESPN John Hollinger - ESPN
Our higher ranking is plenty deserved. We have won four out of our last five... including wins over two solid teams over .500, and a team that was 9-3 at home. Hollinger has us ranked behind Cleveland, Milwaukee, etc, etc. I don't see how you could agree that teams like these belong ranked ahead of us in any poll.

It's based on some gay formula Hollinger made to measure teams. Of course, it's extremely flawed...just like every Hollinger statistic. It doesn't take into account injured players, for one.
I'm not neccesarily suggesting the Nets should be ranked top 15 or 20, but I highly doubt that we were ever the 28th worst team in the leauge or even 26th. That's just bias.
For anyone who doesn't understand why Hollinger has the Nets at 26: It's based on a piece of shit formula. Here's the link: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/col...dRankings-Intro

i dont know about anyone else, but i think powerrankings are just stupid. i really don't care if we are #1, #20 or #30. the only type of rankings that matter are the real rankings. you get 82 games to establish who you are. if you are an 8th seed then that is your ranking (in that conference). i know its just something for the writers to do, i think its just stupid. the only rankings i like reading about are rookie rankings, see how they have done from college/europe to the pros. at least that leads to an award.
