NBA.com is reporting that Paul Pierce has racked up another Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Boston Celtics’ Paul Pierce and the New Orleans Hornets’ Chris Paul today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 24 through Sunday, Dec 30.

Pierce led the Celtics to a 4-0 week averaging 27.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals including a season-high 37 points at Seattle on Dec. 27. He helped lead the Celtics to their first undefeated four-game West coast road trip since the 1992-93 season bringing the Celtics to eight straight wins on the road, the longest such streak since the 1980-81 season.</div>

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><u>Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics</u>
Dec. 26 @ Sacramento: Tallied 16 points, four rebounds and six assists in an 89-69 win over the Kings.
Dec. 27 @ Seattle: Poured in 37 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists in a 104-96 win over the SuperSonics.
Dec. 29 @ Utah: Collected 24 points, six rebounds and four assists in a 104-98 win over the Jazz.
Dec. 30 @ LA Lakers: Notched 33 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals in a 110-91 win over the Lakers.</div>

NBA.com also doesn't make note that Pierce scored 26 and 24 points in the respective second halves in both Seattle and Utah. In addition, he completely took Ron Artest out of his game in Sacramento, while making huge defensive plays in LA as well. "The Truth" is a remarkable all-around player, and one of the very best in the entire league. It's about time he gets recognition for it.

Yep candidate but not MVP, if there were an MVP in boston it would be KG hands down.

Its sad that Kobe hasnt won anything this year be it player of the week or of the month LOL

IMO its because his 30+ points games (w/ at least 4rebs and 4 assists) are considered normal games... I thought he was going to get it this week (West) since he led the lakers to victories over NYK, PHX and UTA with 30+ pt games...

He also shot 5-22 against Boston, leading the Lakers to a blowout. They always go for players that lead their team undefeated that week and put up big time numbers.

You have always had something against playa. You always used to complain about him, yet every single time I see a feud between the two of you... it's you starting something. Stop it.

Playa, don't even respond to it to turn this into something.

KG the current Boston MVP? Yes. "Hands down"? No. Pierce has been huge.

No question KG and Ray make it easier for Pierce. Just as Pierce makes it easier for them. But Pierce has had an excellent career - just on crappy teams.
