I'm not arguing about the suspension, I have no problem with Lamar being suspended, I'm just pissed at how the league is running things. All this talk about "what if Ray Allen got hurt," well Ronny Turiaf did get hurt, and even needed help getting back up. Unlike Ray, who looked like he just got hit by a fly

Who cares if he got hurt or not? The intention was to injure him. Maybe he did get hurt but didn't show it. Maybe it left him hurting the next day. Does it really honestly matter? He ****ing tackled him.

What the hell are you bitching about. I already said I don't mind the suspension, the only reason why I was so pissed off the in the first place was the lack of consistency in the league.

i don't even remember seeing any of that. But yeah i guess they do hate the lakers if both of that stuff has occur but i remember a while ago in the playoffs. Kobe elbowed Bibby in the face and Bibby was bleeding and Bibby was called for the foul.
I was cheering for the lakers but i thought the lakers were getting away with murder.

This argument has gone way too far. Brian is not upset with Odom getting suspended for what he did, and he has said that multiple times, so stop throwing that in his face every other post. The Barnes play should have warranted a suspension, no argument there. The league needs to be more consistent with their calls/punishments - no argument there. No need to continue to bicker about this. Let it go, guys.

He deserves it, but they'll beat the 6ers anyway.

Please. I am going to say it like it is... ANY suspension the league wants to hand down based on rules is justified... AS LONG AS IT IS CONSISTENTLY APPLIED TO ALL PLAYERS ON ALL TEAMS. CONSISTENTLY.

The suspension on several Laker players over the last three seasons have not been fair because the rule applied to enforce the suspensions has not be CONSISTENTLY applied to other players on other teams in similar circumstances. In that vein I am going to call a spade a spade and insist that the suspension handed down to Lamar Odom for the flagrant on Ray Allen is indeed BS as the same rule used to enforce said suspension has not been consistently enforced across the board.

Someone (or some organization) needs to audit the calls being made by Stu Jackson. Period. The end.

He deserved the suspension no question about it.

I'm not sure why Barnes wasn't suspended for his foul on Turiaf or why Melo wasn't suspended for his choke on Vujacic. Teams usually lobby the league office when they want them to review a play. Maybe the Lakers organization doesn't follow through with those problems?

According to the rule the suspension is valid. The fact that the suspension is either enforced inconsistently towards certain teams OR enforced only when lobbied for is a severe flaw in the system. The fact that it seems to affect some teams and players more than others is more than troubling.

Apparently the Lakers are held to a higher standard than the rest of the league.

I'm glad we don't have LO on Friday.

Maybe the front office will realize that the Lakers are basically the same without him, and ship him out for expiring contracts. Then next year, spend all that extra money on Elton Brand.

OT: Did the announcers nickname Kobe "Machine" in the Celtics game?

And that's basically my concern: Is there reason to believe that Stu Jackson lets personal likes/dislikes influence his judgement when enforcing or not enforcing the rules?

I'd say that's a fair claim to make. Stu Jackson has not shown any consistency in his rulings, suspensions, fines, etc. He just seems to make the rules up as he goes.

    The Machine = Sasha Vujacic.

    Suspension will cost Odom $120,441.00

That really puts some perspective on how much these guys make. $120K per game is banking it!
