Does anyone believe that the winner of the LSU - o$u game is really the best team in the country after watching USC and UGA destroy their bowl opponents?

No, and you can add Missouri to that as well.

If Oklahoma looks impressive, they might have a better case than any of these teams (especially Missouri).

If there were a playoff, though, it would be tough to pick anyone but USC.

Georgia looked damn good, but I think they had a the benefit of playing a severely over hyped opponent. USC looked great, but perhaps it would have been a different looking game if Illinois had not been so stubborn and jumped to the vertical passing game sooner (regardless I don't see Illinois winning that game, mind you).

My personal opinion is that USC is the best team in the country right now. UGA looked damn impressive last night too, but they were playing the team with the 114th ranked strength of schedule.

USC has no claim after only just beating 2 winning teams all season (3 if you count Illinois) and then losing to 41 point underdog in Stanford. Sick to death of people (and the media) making excuses and acting like they're this amazing team, when they not. All of this started, just because they beat an overrated Arizona State team and UCLA. They also had their chance against Oregon when Dixon was healthy. They lost.

UGA screwed themselves by getting blown out Tennessee, the school that got into the SEC title game and kept them from having a chance at winning their conference

    So, no.

    And it's O-S-U.

UGA's game against Hawaii was a no-win situation, evidenced even by this thread.

"They pounded an over hyped team"

"They beat a team with the 114th ranked schedule"

Those are reasons why both teams aren't in the BCS title game, but that isn't what I'm asking. I'm asking who you think is the best team at the end of this long, topsy-turvy season.

Every team has blemishes on their resume.

I'd take OU (if they win tonight, if not then UGA) and winner of LSU-OSU.

Even with USC, UGA blowing out there games, OSU still only has 1 loss. So if they can beat LSU I really do think that they are the best team in the nation.

After the regular season, a case could have been made for OU.

After the Fiesta Bowl, You can't rule out the Mountaineers.

I thought Mizzou & OU got screwed.... With 4 min 38 sec left in the Orange Bowl, it appears the Sooners were the Big 12 team that did not deserve a BCS game.

OSU played an easy schedule. Look at the gap between USC and Illinois.

Everyone plays a easy schedule. And, how far did USC have to go for there game against Illini?

I will say this, OSU did get destroyed last night...

The Rose Bowl had the oppurtunity to put UGA and USC in the same bowl, but chose not to.

They didn't even ask the Sugar Bowl committee or representatives, which they would have to do in order to be allowed to take em.
