Eli needs to manage the game, and not come out swinging like he did against the Patriots. The last thing that the Giants need is for a Barber and the Bucs' secondary to rip them a new one.

Just run the ball with Jacobs and Bradshaw, they shouild be alright on offense. On defense, Jeff Garcia is a veteran QB, and the Giants front line on D is going to have to put the clamp on him. If they can do both I really like the Giants on the road.

Also, for the record the Buccaneers are restricting sales of their tickets to Florida residents. That's right, a playoff game isn't even sold out. They don't want any Giants fans coming down from NY/NJ to fill up those empty seats.

A TON of "Florida Residents" are from this area.

Ever see the Yankees play in Tampa? It's like a home game for them.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Giants coach Tom Coughlin took his share of hits for going all out in a futile try at an ultimately meaningless victory last week against the Patriots. Chicago's own Dan Bernstein, subbing for Dan Patrick on ''The Dan Patrick Show,'' called Coughlin ''reckless'' for damaging the Giants' Super Bowl hopes. Then on his own show Thursday on WSCR-AM, he mocked Coughlin's rationalization that even in defeat and with three starters injured, his team had momentum going into the playoffs.

But was Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden any smarter? He rested Jeff Garcia, Joey Galloway and Earnest Graham in a 31-23 loss last week to the Panthers, and even Garcia acknowledged he feels ''overrested'' heading into the game.

Who's right? The record shows that while it might not be reckless, it's much more damaging to your Super Bowl hopes to rest key starters in the final week of the regular season.

In 2005, the Colts coasted to the finish, then lost their playoff opener at home to the Steelers, who had all the momentum from a playoff push and won the Super Bowl. Last season, the Colts played to the finish to try for a better seed and won it all.

So while playing all out has its risks, momentum is an underrated reward. Only one team in the last 13 years has lost its regular-season finale and won the Super Bowl.

Best Bet pick: Giants 27, Buccaneers 23.</div>

I was impressed by the way the Giants competed with the Patriots, but the more I think about it did the Giants burn themselves out for this Saturday's matchup?

The Giants and their fans were hyped up to be the last team left to put a blemish on the Pats perfect record. Was this their playoff game?

After playing so well only to lose at the end and watch Eli fold under pressure once again, how will the mental strength of the Giants be in this game?

The Bucs play solid fundamental football and will be tough to pass against. Gruden has always prepared his teams well in the post-season and does a good job of game planning and will take away what his opponents do best. A similar approach was taken by the Patriots who shutdown the Giants running game and put the pressure on Manning to beat them. He came up short and the Patriots came back to win the game.

It's an ironic matchup though. Both coaches took completely opposite approaches to prepare for the post-season.

Gruden rested his guys and Coughlin had his starters play an emotionally hard fought game.

The loser will be second-guessed for their approach.

    17-7 Giants.

The Giants gameplan was supposed to be run it all day long, but the Bucs forced Eli to throw and they're paying for it.

yup. They were going to force Eli to come out and beat them, and he did just that.

20 for 27, 185 yards, 2 TDs. And finally a playoff win for him.

    And 0 interceptions.

The Patriots game was a turning point for Eli. He looks to be a different player.

I feel a hell of a lot better about facing Dallas next week than I did earlier in the season. But they're going to have to put on the same performance they did against the Patriots to win.
