<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Well, kids, that time is here again. No, we're not talking about the holiday season, we're talking about the pre-qualifying rounds for the World Series of Beer Pong. The prizes have gotten bigger, the stakes have gotten higher, and you've got a chance to win $50,000 all with a few flicks of your wrist.
The tourney is in Vegas the first week of January - not a bad place to go to get away from Jack Frost biting your ass. Find out where your local satellite tournaments are so you can qualify for the big show at WSOBP.</div>

I've played a few times. I'd rather just get down to drinking, but it's fun every now and then.

A few months back I was at a bar with a few friends...two of them were 2 cups away from a trip to Puerto Rico.

wtf that's not Pong, its Beirut!!!!

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>History and culture

By the early 21st century, newspapers frequently attributed the origin of beer pong to Dartmouth College: "Legend has it that the game, which can be played with paddles..., started years ago at a Dartmouth College fraternity party."[2]

The version of beer pong played at Dartmouth differs from that played at many U.S. colleges and universities. Other than at Dartmouth, the phrase "beer pong" generally refers to the game of "Beirut" or "Lebanon," a popular drinking game in which players take turns throwing a ping pong ball by hand at an opponent's beer-filled cups located opposite. No paddles are involved, and the element of defense or any kind of back-and-forth volleying is absent. As it emerged at Dartmouth, however, pong is played with paddles and retains the basic service-volley-score form of table tennis.</div>

They just put out this game for the Wii that I picked up called Game Party...it's just a collection of 7 different little games (air hockey, skeeball, darts, shuffle board, etc.). But on there is a game called "Ping Cup", which is just beer pong.

Needless to say, my friends and I played this weekend, using the game for the playing part, and just having to drink when the other person got one in. It's not quite the same, but it's much easier to set up.

I would win this tournament. I am the beer pong master.

I'm also very cocky because I'm very drunk at the moment, so take those previous statements with a grain of salt. I did win a free keg at a local New Orleans bar when me and my buddy won a tournament a month or so ago though.

My favorite game is murderball. I had a friend who mentioned it one time at UM, but I never played it until I went to a PIKE party at Tulane. It's a simple, fun game, where you line up beer cans on the four corners of a table, try to hit the cans with your ball, and a lot of other things that I'm not in any condition to explain, but it's a fun game.

I always found that beer pong and basketball were in a strange way related. They both have a great deal to do with depth perception.

The best part about beer pong is that even the losers are winners. They just get drunk quicker.

(EDIT: Woops, almost posted a new topic instead of a new post.)

Double edit: I love that the amount of time I've spent behind a keyboard in my life has made it so that I can type somewhat grammatically correct sentences with decent enough spelling to be online drunk. I may not make sense at times, but my words are always typed properly. It's a skill that I'm sure you all possess by now; I love it.

Darts is pretty awesome..it works really well with the controls.

Same with skeeball and shuffleboard, although that takes a little getting used to for getting the right amount of power behind it.

Air hockey...the controls are weird, I have to play it more.

The last two are a basketball shooting one (really easy if you can get into the right pattern of just flicking your wrist) and a trivia game, which can always be pretty fun if you're playing with others.

With all that said, well worth the $19.99

apparently it's pretty hard to find. only 1 of the likr 5 gamestops/EB games/etc. around me had it, and they just had one copy. Best Buy and all those places are out of it, as are a lot of places online. But it's totally worth it.
