<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>In the last days of 2007, here at Hoopsworld we searched for an official web site for every one of the roughly 450 players in the league. After analyzing them one-by-one, we came up with the five you should not miss, a few honorable mentions we thought you would like, and, of course, a comprehensive listing of all other player web sites. Kobe Bryant - www.kb24.com One of the most popular athletes on the planet has a web site to match. It was done using all modern web development bells and whistles, meaning that you have to have a high-speed Internet connection to fully enjoy it. And its worth every bit -- pun intended -- of it. Feeling a visitor gets is that there is a whole team dedicated to making the site work. The most important element of course is Kobe himself, posting regular updates, giving us his side of the summer trade rumors. When you visit the site it starts of with an interesting video montage and does not let up. Dirk Nowitzki - www.41fan.net Dirk Nowitzki recently updated his website from something average to an interactive masterpiece. It starts of with Dirk doing what he rarely does in real life -- spinning a basketball on his index finger. Around him are standard links for photos, videos and of course some German-centric information. Visit the Q & A section and get to know Dirk a little better. Judging from the tone and the choice of words, it really is Dirk answering all the question. He is as humble and normal of a superstar as you will ever meet. Also, as you use the site you will notice that the Dirk animation sometimes blinks. Fantastic. Adonal Foyle - www.adonalfoyle.com What else needs to be said about this site other than the fact that the Orlando Magic center regularly posts his own poetry on the site. It is a big part of his life, as are many other non-basketball activities. From what we in the media see, Foyle does not take himself too seriously in the locker room, and it is good that some of that bleeds over into his website. The site seems to be updated daily, has excellent multimedia selections, most noticeable of which is the opening montage of his various shot-blocking skills. Another unique aspect of his site: Foyle is obviously sufficiently interested in the political process in the United States, his website has joined the Democracy Matters campaign, prominently featured on the website. Tony Parker - www.tp9.net This site was done in the true spirit of European web development: random link placement, complex navigation, and more form than function. But it made this list because it seems that a lot of French players use the same company to produce their websites, so if you see Parker's web site, you will have seen Diaw's and Pietrus' sites as well. Speaking of, it was exactly Pietrus that made Tony's site worth seeing. Tony Parker is spending the better part of his own home page apologizing to the Golden State Warrior and French national teammate Mickael Pietrus for a misunderstanding between the two, currently echoing through the media. You can't get much more from a website than a Frenchman apologizing. Hedo Turkoglu - www.hedo79.com When Hedo suddenly appears on the right side of the website screen, you will have to fight back not to smile yourself. The photo section is comical, with its rotating slide show. Hedo's biography is more detailed than any other resource on the web, his videos are good quality and are kept up-to-date. Did you know Hedo was involved with car rentals in Turkey? The Turkish banners on his site seem to indicate just that. My guess is that the black Bentley coupe he is sitting on in one of the photos is not a rental car. Honorable Mentions: Baron Davis - www.barondavis.com Ricky Davis - www.rickydavis31.com Boris Diaw - www.borisdiaw.com Chris Paul - www.chrispaul3.com Grant Hill - www.granthill.com Steve Nash - www.stevenash.org</div> Source: Hoopsworld
