    Today:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"It started in the New York game [Dec. 30]," Deng said. "It has been nagging me, but I've been playing through it and getting treatment. I went up for a jumper and came down and it tightened up real bad on me."

Deng said he would undergo a magnetic resonance imaging test Friday and doesn't know if he can play in Saturday's home game against the Kings.

Deng scored two points on 1-of-5 shooting in 14 minutes, the fourth time Deng has failed to reach double figures this season. Last season Deng reached double figures in 78 of 82 games.</div>

    Some info:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Achilles tendonitis is an inflammation of the tendon. It often results from a small stretch injury that causes the tendon to become swollen, painful and less flexibility than the normal tendon. (Click HERE for an animation of Achilles' tendonitis.) Untreated, this injury may fail to heal, or progress to a chronically painful condition. Of course, in some people, the tear may progress to a complete rupture of the tendon. (Click HERE for an animation of an Achilles' tendon rupture.) A ruptured (or torn) tendon may occur when the tendon has been structurally weakened by an ongoing tendonitis, or when a completely healthy tendon is subjected to a sudden, unexpected force. As a result, the tendon tears.</div>

And here's an ESPN interview with an expert on Achilles injuries. Basically says rest, but gives better details.

Thanks for finding the info, Mike.

I wonder if Deng is going to continue to have injury problems the rest of his career. His body type is somewhat similar to Tracy McGrady's body type - extremely tall and lanky. Deng also had back problems earlier this year, like McGrady obv., and some people feel that that kind of problem never goes away.
