Sean and Josh play so well together that I doubt they lose those starting jobs anytime soon. But let's say Krstic comes back and after a while returns to form. Who sits? Josh or Sean?
im not banking on krstic coming back and help us. why do ppl assume that? his confidence is buried and he hasnt played in weeks. how is that going to help him?

I think when Krstic comes back, he will come off the bench for some length of time....but just think, he will add a lot of offense from the bench....he will probably take all of Allen's minutes....IF he gets back to form before the playoffs we could see him back in the starting line up....but I think the Nets have a solid 3 man rotation regardless of who starts
This kind of thinking is why I didn't like the idea of blowing up the team. It's too late to maximize the return for their best players, so why not just wait it out and see if the best case scenario happens? If Krstic comes back healthy and rested and works off the rust by March, the Nets are a playoff opponent nobody wants to see.
IF he regains prior form, he will likely replace Sean as the starter (knowing Frank). I, however, would prefer a Nenad/Sean starting combo as I think they are more complimentary on both ends. As far as where a fully effective Krstic fits in, he will be the Nets' best shooter over 6'6", the only big with legitimate low post moves, and a 7' 260 pound body to matchup with other big men. He will take all of Allen's minutes. And with Williams and Boone prone to foul trouble, I still expect to see short stints by Twin, even if/when Nenad is back to full power. So it will be a 5 man rotation for the 2 power spots, with Boki splitting his time on court between the 3 & 4.
Nenad will come off the bench when he comes back...He will be a good compliment to either Sean or Josh and if he gets back into starting shape then I think the lineup will reflect matchups with opponents.
It really doesn't matter, I don't expect to see krstic in the starting lineup any time soon. He'll be coming off the bench for a while.
Nenad will be a plug-and-play replacement for Malik Allen. I would like to see him get back his starter's role before the playoffs as I would like to see Boone/SWat alternate on KG on defense.

People cannot say this is the same team that upset the Raptors in the first round and pushed the defending champs to six. This team on paper is actually better. We essentially replaced Mikki Moore with Sean Williams and Josh Boone. Suddendly, our points in the paint production is up, and we're finally in a position where we can bring Jason Collins off the bench and bring him in in certain situations to gaurd a Chris Bosh or a Shaquille O'Neal. Finally we have more than one big in the lineup that not only can defend, but can block shots and finish passes from Kidd. It's a great feeling. It's why we've started to turn it around. And when you throw Nenad when and if he finally gets back to form this season, that's a whole 'nother level. Maybe we are going nowhere. Maybe it is time to blow it up. But the fact is that ThornKiki is not going to blow up this team this season. They probably think it's worth it to give it one (final) run, and go into Brooklyn with a winning team and with Kidd and Carter in tact. And they just may be right.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Krakista @ Jan 6 2008, 12:59 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Nenad will be a plug-and-play replacement for Malik Allen.</div> Exactly. It'll just be Nenad coming in and doing Malik's role...except much, MUCH better. That's why it pisses me off even more that Malik's on this team, while Nads is injured. When he comes back, though I expect him to come off the bench (either at first, or permanently) and bring in a great shooting touch, along with better rebounding, defense, and overall play than Allen (anything is an upgrade from Allen to me).
Nenad will never be the same. I think he will come back and be showcased and then packaged in a trade with wright and whoever else. for him to stay on this team he is going to have to turn into the best passing and jumpshooting big man this team has ever seen. I dont see that happening. I am rooting for him but i think its a long shot.
I'd like to see Nenad be the first big off the bench, and then Collins. Believe it or not, Collins seems much more effective coming off the bench these past few games.

Plus he actually gives a shit now on offense... If this is a semi permanent role, its a good one for him and allows his flaws to stay hidden.
