<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE ("TrueHoop")</div><div class='quotemain'>If you are playing in the NBA with a non-guaranteed contract, today is the most nervous day of the season -- and Thursday is one of the best.

That's because according to the NBA collective bargaining agreement anyone who is on an NBA roster, or has not yet cleared waivers, as of this Thursday has their contract fully guaranteed through the end of the season.

Which means that if a team is not serious about keeping you, or might want a roster spot or some cap room, they have until 6 pm ET today to let you go without having to pay you all season. Then players will spend 48 hours on waivers, and would be free and clear as of Thursday.</div>

    I think he's staying.

I'd be surprised if they let him go...other then in the last game, he's been in there for 20ish minutes a night and been a part of the rotation. I can't see them just dropping him.

If Nenad had been back and in the full swing of things by now, I'd think Allen would be gone. But, for rotation and insurance purposes at the moment, I think he's going to stay.

Looks like Billy didn't make it though.

I think Allen might make it but then again I don't think Kiki is that desperate to keep him, he might have other things in mind w/ that spot, maybe a trade in the works or a FA signing who knows

Malik is going to make it which is unfortunate.

Shame about Billy but the decision was made when he missed two wide open shots against Atlanta.

Demarr Johnson was just waived by San Antonio so there is a better option out there, I think Malik has some trade value

We proved we could win without Malik. I know it's always good to keep him as an option but we are talking about the Nets and not the Knicks. We are as cheap as it gets so he still might be on the chopping block.

    Maybe we will use Magloire?

Actually, dump Malik and sign Leon Powe if he gets waived.

If the Nets do not waive Malik, will they have to make a trade to get under the luxury tax?

he has an in between game, he either shoots you into games or does an M.I.A. frankly I'd waive him to get more burn for Boone or Williams it's not a coincidence they are 7 - 1 since they've been put in the starting line up...or package Malik w/ Boki for something useable down the line since Wright will be returning soon. Kiki is about contract clean ups and roster flexibility I wonder who he has an eye on [IMG]

Welcome, Netsfan318! If you have any questions, just PM me.

And I agree. He'll become redundant once Krstic gets back.

How about "if" Krstic gets back.

I haven't heard a single encouraging thing about his rehab since the summer.

That is true...but there is still the question of when he'll be back, and then how long it'll take til he can contribute (or if he'll be able to).
