<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ray Rice has managed to sidestep most questions about his future as neatly as he does defenders, but Rutgers' star running back seemed to suggest yesterday -- by both his actions and words -- that he is NFL-bound. The junior did not accompany the Rutgers football travel party home on its charter flight from Toronto to Newark Liberty Airport yesterday, opting instead to take a separate flight to LaGuardia Airport in New York City -- along with teammate and childhood friend Courtney Greene. One day after rushing for a school-record 280 yards and four touchdowns in Rutgers' 52-30 International Bowl victory over Ball State in Canada, Rice said he needed to get home to New Rochelle, N.Y., immediately before announcing whether he will return for his senior year or apply for the NFL Draft. The announcement, he said right before leaving LaGuardia Airport to head home, will come "either tomorrow or the next day." "I'll need to get started on training," he said. That would appear to mean for NFL scouts, not for Rutgers' spring practice. ... Greene, a three-year starter at free safety who starred with Rice at New Rochelle High, is also considering entering the NFL a year early. Asked if he would be at spring practice, Greene flashed a smile before answering. "Hopefully," he said. "But you never know." Rice got the star treatment yesterday in the Toronto Airport, with Rutgers fans streaming by to congratulate him and Greene on the Knights' second straight bowl victory. Several pleaded with Rice to stay one more year, though most simply asked if the greatest running back in school history would pose for a picture with them. "Are you coming back?" one fan asked Rice, as he and Greene ate at the Friday's restaurant in the airport. "I need a couple of days to decide," he responded.</div> Star Ledger
I wouldn't mind Rice declaring. He would do a lot of good for any team in the NFL. IF the Pats take McFadden, I want the Cowboys to go after Rice.
Ray will be declaring for the draft according to WFAN. I really hope Greene stays. He's not ready for the NFL yet, and we could really use him next year.
Thank you Ray Rice for all you've done for RU and New Jersey. Man it just seems like yesterday that RU beat UNC on the road and everyone was pointing towards Brian Leonard as it's Heisman canidate. He's accomplished alot in 16 short months.
