Billy Martin, the lawyer for Vick, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday that his client hopes to enter a drug rehabilitation program at the facility that, upon completion, could make the suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback eligible to have his jail term reduced. On December 10, Vick, 27, was sentenced to 23 months for his role in a dogfighting operation run from a property in Surry County, Virginia. A statement was released by Martin and fellow attorney Lawrence Woodward on Monday regarding Vick's transfer to Leavenworth. "Mr. Vick hopes to participate in programs offered at that facility, including the Bureau of Prisons drug treatment program," the statement read. "Mr. Vick looks forward to being reunited with his family upon completion of his sentence. He is hopeful that following his release he will have the opportunity to resume his career as a professional football player." On Sunday, Yahoo! Sports reported Vick's plans to apply to join Leavenworth's prison-monitored drug rehabilitation program. Bureau of Prison officials would not verify Monday if Vick will enter such a drug program. Vick failed a drug test while awaiting sentencing in his dog fighting case. The program runs for 12 months and Vick could be released at its conclusion, although it is not known when he might begin the program. If Vick indeed serves a significantly reduced sentence, it could open the door for him to return to the NFL by 2009, assuming the league chooses not to impose its own suspension beyond the length of his prison time. Otherwise, Vick would be released in July 2009 if he served his full sentence.

In other words, Michael Vick was an extremely over-hyped QB that will never win the big game because he can't consistantly move the chains through the air when he needs to step up and be the QB instead of a RB taking a direct snap. Great arm, but hasn't got a clue as to what touch is. However, the harshest aspects of truth regarding Michael Vick is what his glorification says about fans rather than Vick himself. There are too many football fans that get too worked up over Vick's dancing around to see the limitations in Vick's game. I blame video games.
