I haven't seen a thread for All-Star roster discussion yet. If there's an already existing one, I'll just merge this post into it, but otherwise, post your projections here -

(starters based on current leading vote getters)

East
G - Jason Kidd
G - Dwyane Wade
F - LeBron James
F - Kevin Garnett
C - Dwight Howard
--------------------
G - Chauncey Billups
G - Ray Allen
F - Paul Pierce
F - Antawn Jamison
C - Chris Bosh
R - Richard Jefferson
R - Caron Butler

Snubs - Vince Carter, Michael Redd, Rip Hamilton, Andre Iguodala, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace

It's a shame that in that projection guys like Billups and Allen get the nod over guys like Carter and Redd, but you know the league's going to put them in there based on the success of their teams.

West
G - Kobe Bryant
G - Tracy McGrady
F - Carmelo Anthony
F - Tim Duncan
C - Yao Ming
--------------------
G - Steve Nash
G - Allen Iverson
F - Dirk Nowitzki
F - Carlos Boozer
C - Amare Stoudemire
R - Chris Paul
R - Chris Kaman

Snubs - Baron Davis, Tony Parker, Al Jefferson, Brandon Roy, Deron Williams, Shawn Marion, Stephen Jackson, Josh Howard

I hope the league gets it right and puts Kaman in the game. 14 rpg and 3 bpg is incredible and should warrant an All-Star bid no matter the circumstances. I can see arguments for Baron Davis, because he's playing out of his mind this season, but I guess that's what happens when you let the fans vote Tracy McGrady in. Marion's going to get some consideration, but Phoenix isn't having the type of year that warrants three All-Star bids again. Realistically, Parker or Roy could very likely steal the final spot from Kaman: Parker based on his team's success, and Roy based on the mancrush everyone around the league seems to have on him.

I'd go:

Eastern Conference
C: Dwight Howard
F: Kevin Garnett
F: LeBron James
G: Dwyane Wade
G: Jason Kidd
-------------------------
G: Chauncey Billups
G: Ray Allen
F: Paul Pierce
F: Antawn Jamison
F: Chris Bosh
F: Caron Butler
G: Joe Johnson

* But we all know Vince will be in it.

Western Conference
C: Yao Ming
F: Tim Duncan
F: Carmelo Anthony
G: Tracy McGrady
G: Kobe Bryant
-------------------------
G: Chris Paul
G: Steve Nash
F: Dirk Nowitzki
F: Carlos Boozer
C: Marcus Camby (give this man his due)
C: Amare Stoudemire
G: Allen Iverson or Baron Davis (tough)

* It's also tough for me to leave off Chris Kaman, but we all know the league will leave him out. I also hate to leave out Deron, who is my favorite point guard in the NBA, but he shouldn't be in this year over CP3, Nash, Iverson, or Baron.

How do you figure Camby makes it over Kaman? They're putting up more or less the same defensive numbers (14 rpg, 3 bpg vs. 14 rpg, 4 bpg), but Kaman's averaging 18 ppg, while Camby's only averaging nine. And are you really going to put three Nuggets on the team?

It's tough, Voodoo, and it's not just about the numbers. I think Camby should have made it last year, as well. I think it's pretty neck-and-neck, I honestly would prefer Kaman made it and I'll be rooting for him as I've always liked him, but Camby is due.

The only thing with Camby last year was he missed a decent chunk of the beginning of the season. I think he was pretty much a lock until he got hurt.
