Joslin is out, he's still recovering from an injury to his hand in his fight with Koscheck.
    which is a crying shame.
I saw Joslin fight at Freedom Fight here in Hull/Ottawa vs Jon Fitch and Myself and most of the crowd thought he was robbed of a victory over fitch. It was a great fight and for some damn reason the ref allowed Fitch to call a timeout while Joslin was pressuring him. Think it was a glove or mouthpiece issue. Anywho it just showed the inexperience of the ref IMO and allowed Fitch to recover.
Shoulda been a W for Joslin, instead Fitch wins and goes to the UFC.
Diego wants a fight and would like it set by February he said. Haven't heard which card it will be on.

I've heard conflicting reports on JJ's status, which I why I included him. It will have been sixteen months since he fought Josh Koscheck. That should be ample time to recover and then some.

And yeah, I haven't seen the Fitch fight, but every time I hear it mentioned people say Joslin was robbed.

I remember what the timeout was for. It was a cut. The fighter called a timeout to have his cut looked at!!
beyond that Joslin was winning an exciting fight IMO.
there was 2 busloads that came up from Toronto (members of his gym and family etc) to see Joslin fight, they were not happy with the outcome.

So I downloaded the fight from MMALinker and it was a pretty close battle.

I think Fitch won the first round 10-9 on account of the late knockdown, the second round was a draw, and the third round should've been 10-8 for Joslin, with Fitch losing a point for stopping the fight.

It reminded me of when Dan Barrera told Herb Dean he couldn't see, and Dean called time and asked Barerra if he wanted to stop.

The ref shouldn't have stopped the fight, and if Fitch insisted on a time-out, he should've deducted a point, or even declared it a verbal submission.

There are no time-outs in MMA!

The newest rumour is that Frankie Edgar will be fighting in April, if not on this card, than in London or at Fight Night Live.

Even more news about UFC 84 in Montreal.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jason MacDonald vs. Joe Doerksen at UFC 84

    Dann Stupp, MMAjunkie.com
    January 13, 2008

In a recent blog entry, UFC middleweight Jason MacDonald (19-9 MMA, 3-2 UFC) stated that he would be fighting on the UFC 84 card in Montreal. We now apparently know his opponent: Joe Doerksen (39-11 MMA, 1-5 UFC).

The news comes from Stephan Patry, president of the Canadian-based TKO organization, who was quoted by the French-Canadian sports site, RDS.ca. (MacDonald and Doerksen both previously fought for the organizations.)

UFC 84 takes place April 19 at Montreal's Bell Centre and features a title-unification bout between current welterweight champion Matt Serra and interim title-holder Georges St. Pierre.

Paltry also confirmed that Canadians Patrick Cote and Sam Stout will likely be on the card, though the outcomes of their upcoming fights will determine their opponent for UFC 84. Cote faces Drew McFedries at UFC Fight Night 12 on Jan. 23, and Stout takes on Per Eklund later this week at UFC 80.

Although the MacDonald-Doerksen fight would feature two of Canada's top middleweight fighters, it's not known if the bout will be on the night's televised main card. The event -- the first ever to take place in Canada -- is quickly filling up with top-tier talent. In addition to St. Pierre vs. Serra, the event is also slated to feature Thiago Alves vs. Karo Parisyan, as well as the return of Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

MacDonald, 32, has been a fringe contender for the UFC's 185-lb. title, but he's lost the two biggest fights of his career: vs. Rick Franklin at UFC 68 and vs. Yushin Okami at UFC 77. However, even with the losses, he's won seven of his past nine fights and remains a fan favorite.

Doerksen, a longtime UFC fighter, made his return to the organization last month as a late replacement for an injured Dave Terrell. There, Doerksen suffered a third-round knockout to Ed Herman. Prior to that, he lost a WEC 32 fight to Paulo Filho, which snapped a seven-fight win streak.</div>

wow this would be a great fight.. so long as Doerkson can get it on the ground.

MacDonald vs. Joe Dirt doesn't have excitement written all over it, but it could be a good ground war.

I've seen Joe live and man he's a worker on the ground, not a lay and prayer. I love good ground work when both guys are getting after it and not just taking a break.

ANOTHER good fight is being added to the card, with TUF winner Mac Danzig taking on Ontario native Mark Bocek.

I'd feel scammed if I was one of the UK fans, the UFC didn't make an effort like this for them.

    Here we go again!

Evan Tanner makes his UFC return facing Yushin Okami at UFC 84 in Montreal.

    This card is unreal.

Opponents have been leaked for Sam Stout and Jon Goulet.

Stout will likely face Rich "No Love" Clementi, coming off a win over coke-snorting, trash-talking Melvin Guillard.

Goulet will likely face Kuniyoshi Hironaka who in the UFC has losses to Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves and a victory over Forrest Petz.
