I love Jason Kidd as much as the next guy. He's a great player and a great point guard but lately I've started to question his decision making A LOT. He's averaging the most turnovers/game this season during his time in New Jersey and sometimes his turnovers are momentum killers. I understand he's trying to push the tempo and get easy baskets but sometimes you can't just throw the ball and hope your teammate is going to get it. There's many times where he just gets the ball and sees a teammate down the court and just lobs it down there in traffic and sometimes it works out but most often it gets picked off or the player can't get to it. Like in this past Celtic game he had 2 CRUCIAL turnovers that I can remember in the final couple of minutes of the game. One was him throwing a crazy pass to try to get a fast break basket which one of the Celtic players picked off (this was when Perkins got called for the technical). Then he had that HUGE turnover where he was pushing it up the court and when it just looked like he was going up for a lay up to draw the foul he makes a crazy pass and the Celtics, once again, pick it off and pretty much all hope is gone. Now I know everyone here loves the fast breaking game, loves the up-tempo stuff. I love up-tempo ball as much as the next guy and I always advocate looking for easy baskets but sometimes Kidd just forces it too much. Sometimes it works out and they get the basket but more often than not it results in a turnover and is usually a huge momentum killer. I think he needs to start taking more care of the ball and realize when there's nothing there don't try and force it. I'm not advocating NEVER make dangerous passes but for example in the Celtic game, the turnover I pointed out where I thought he was going for the lay up but instead passed it, that kind of thing he needs to realize to just pull it back out. Those are the momentum killer type turnovers and kisses of death, especially when they happen late in the fourth quarter. I know a lot of you may not agree with me but this is just what I think.
I agree that he made some bad mistakes out there with the errant passes. But his BBIQ is high enough that he probably won't do it as often. He's just trying to push the tempo. I have no problem with that. I don't think Kidd's mistakes are what cost us this game.
Kidd is going for a lot of home run plays this season. He's taking more risks as well, that's why his turnover numbers have gone up.

The Big Three all have the same problem...when it gets tight they try to take over the game themselves Jason forces passes, Vince reverts to just jumpshooting and RJ goes to the basket and puts up constested trying to get to the foul line. They forget to play TEAM basketball.
