amazing performance by Bynum again!!! Kupchak, we should have kept Caron! Imagine, caron, Kobe, Odom and Bynum? wow! Kwame Brown......
Dwight Howard is number 12. Its one of those lame nicknames. That's a helluva statline by Bynum, though.

He put up Dwight Howard type numbers tonight....</div> Yeah, he did. [OT] So Dwight Howard is D12, eh? I hate those nicknames. They're so uninventive. CP3, KB8, T-Mac, LBJ, AI, J-Will, etc. Whatever happened to names the Round Mound of Rebound, the Big Aristotle, the Junk Yard Dog, Mighty Mouse, or the Reignman? I actually heard the P.A. announcer at the Hornets game tonight announcing Paul's made basket as "C... P... 3!!!" What a shame. [/OT]
Ey Voodoo, I don't know how much of Bynum you've seen this year, but would you re-evaluate your stance on him? He's playing minds out basketball right now, and it's not just Kobe creating shit for him right now. He's isolating himself down on the post, showing an array of moves and the softest touch I've seen on a big man in a long time. I'm simply amazed by him. I was surprised when Tim Legler actually gave him love the other day. He ranked Bynum the #2 center to build around, behind only Dwight Howard. I agree.
Bynum should be named after the heavy bomber, B-17. But yeah, Bynum and Howard will probably be the top centers in this league very soon. Howard is nearly there, B-17 not too far neither. Besides having a good year, I think if our success stays solid we can attract free agents who could make a difference as role players.
Personally, I already think Howard is the number one center in the league. I don't consider Amare a center, he's a PF playing out of position.

Bynum is averaging 18.8 ppg, 12.8 rebounds, 2.8 blocks in the last 5 games Howards numbers 19.0 ppg 13 rebounds 1.6 blocks sorry, i think thats considered D12 numbers.
Dude, it's been 5 games. Howard's been doing that ALL YEAR. Bynum's going to be great, but he won't average Dwight numbers for a year. Allow me to ask, who would you rather have?: A player with Kobe Freaking Bryant on his team, putting up 13.2 10.2 1.7 Or a 25 year old having no creator like Kobe on his team, putting up 18.0 13.8 2.1

He was just talking about one game that Bynum's stats looked good and similar to numbers that Howard usually puts up. Bynum is still no where near the level of Howard. So please don't start any comparisons. And Pablo is the only one that wants to trade Kwame right now so it's about 1% of the Lakers fans that want to trade him. There is no way I would consider trading him right now since Mihm is done and Turiaf can't stay out of foul trouble. Kwame's defense isn't that bad at all, he also has great post moves but he just doesn't know how to dunk it like Bynum.

Half of his shots get blocked by smaller guys or he ends up missing both of his free throws.
The only reason why we don't trade Kwame is so we can dump his contract at the end of the yr., OR resign him for LLE. Just promise me that all other players w/ only one yr. left on their contract (except Ariza) leaves. How about Odom? He is improving greatly lately. The only thing is he tries to force too much.

Odom has found his best role for the Lakers as the 3rd option.

The Bynum we're watching this year looks nothing like the Bynum I used to rag on. With that said, he's still overrated, hence your last two sentences. Those are going to annoy the hell out of any logical thinking, non-Laker fan. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Dude, it's been 5 games. Howard's been doing that ALL YEAR. The better question is Bogut or Bynum. Before this year, I would have said Bogut hands down, but now I'm split. Statistics give a slight nod to Bynum, but I'd love to see Bogut in the Laker system, or any system that utilizes him correctly. At this point in time, it'd be hard to choose Bogut, but as soon as he changes teams, I think most people will change their opinions. Another big man to watch is Spencer Hawes. He's hiding on the Kings' bench at the moment, but he's only 19 years old and is only in his rookie season. Compared to Bynum's rookie season, his is a little more productive. From a skill perspective, I think he's ahead of Bynum, even at this point in his career. Watching him in the Kings' last match-up (against the Grizz), you could tell the ability is there. He's just significantly smaller than Bynum in terms of weight and needs to bulk up considerably. His rebounding has already come a long way since his time as a Huskie though. He grabbed three boards right out of the hands of Gasol and Milicic in the paint. By the time he's in his third season, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the Spencer Hawes hype train rolling into ESPN like the Bynum one did this season. BTW - Did anyone else see that play the other night where JF5 brought the ball down the court, kicked it over to DF2, who used the screen set by TA3, drove right by YJ9 and RI12 to dish the ball off to RT21 for the jam over M51? I thought L-Krys was going to kill someone!
I dont understand why non-lakers fans are always trying to cut down Bynum - maybe because the media is lauding his play so much?? Why not? He is playing for the most popular franchise in basketball, just turned 20 years old, is averaging 15ppg, 12rpg, and 2.4 bpg on 65.5% shooting ever since being inserted into the starting lineup. It isn't just 5 games, it's been two months of this! Why compare him to Howard? Because Bynum is the most productive 20 year old 7-footer since ... yes Howard! That really isn't that hard to comprehend the connection and is not any sort of a reach ... it's not suggesting Bynum is better (or worse for that matteR) .. it's just that's what we do, we compare to the most recent guy with a similar stat line, so stop trying to cut down that guy.
