<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>NEW YORK €” Jamario Moon, the Toronto Raptors' 27-year-old rookie, got word Friday that he will be among the participants in the slam-dunk contest at the NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans on February 16th. "I feel great, I'm excited," said Moon, a 6-foot-8 forward who has drawn comparisons to former NBA legend Julius Erving €” Dr. J €” for his swooping drives to the basket and his ability to palm the basketball with ease. Moon's teammates are excited as well. "He told me he's got some dunks," said Raptors guard Juan Dixon. What moves Moon will breaking out for one of the most-watched basketball events of the season are a closely-guarded secret, as Moon doesn't want to tip his hand. "I got to keep it low for now," he said Friday night after wowing the Madison Square Garden crowd with a spectacular double-clutching fadeaway lay-up. Moon has been one of the NBA's most exciting rookies after making the Raptors roster as a free agent following a six-year tour of basketball's low-minor leagues. He ranks among rookie leaders in points (8.2), rebounds (6.4); and blocked shots (1.66). The last Raptor to participate in the dunk contest was Vince Carter, who won the event in 2000.</div> http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...Basketball/home
Wow, that's awesome. I thought he deserved a spot, but didn't believe the NBA would give it to an unhyped player like Jamario. How far has this dude come in the space of 4-5 months?
I think last night scoring 13 points on 5-8 shootings (5-5 to start) 9 rebounds and 4 steals shows hes become productive but his emergence has been awesome, hes a favourite, big time, of mine
So what about Kapono and Parker in the three-point contest, any word on that? I think Parker was offered a spot last year but declined.

Bargnani or Moon MVP in rook/soph game Moon wins the Slam Dunk Comp Parker or Kapono wins the 3pt shoot out Calderon wins the Skills Challenge And to top it off Bosh MVP in the All-Star game.

His defence, high IQ and ability to knock down shots make him my fav raptor
I knew Moon would be in the Slam Dunk Contest. I can't wait to see what kind of dunks he shows us. Maybe he'll put on a Vince Carter jersey and put his arm through the rim.

Sickies. I don't know who else is in the contest but I'll root for Moon. He's got quick movement once he leaves the ground, something that should lead to pretty electrifying stuff.
