    The Patriots are the trendy team and fan support for them has only reached an extremely high level since 2001. Even during the Parcells days in the '90s, there was not a lot of talk about the team. The Celtics; however, have a significant group of fans that have "been" with the team for over twenty five years going back to the '80s teams. While the younger fans, myself included, have not experienced a contending season, there still remains a lot of passionate fans within the fanbase and despite the inclusion of some "band-wagoners," the Celtics have always had a strong, intelligent, and ardent group of fans. During some of the Walker led teams about five years back, the Celtics had strong support. While the Red Sox are clearly the dominant team and the Patriots will likely be the second most followed team in the Boston and New England area due to the rise of the NFL, the Celtics will never be without fan support.

    I hate Boston sports fans because most of you think you're better than everyone else, and your team is always the greatest, and that you always deserve to win everything.

    plus most of you are annoying, obnoxious jerks.

    Umm....

    New England Patriots 17-0 with 3 super bowl rings since 2001
    Boston Red Sox 2004 + 2007 (reigning) world series champions..only team to win twice this decade
    Boston Celtics 30-5

    Kiss the rings and kiss the records bro...don't even talk to me and tell me what I think. And yeah I know we aren't always supposed to win but all three of our "big three" are in the top 3 of each of their respective sports with one being reigning champs and the other being one of the favorites to win it all. Why shouldn't I be cocky right now? It's great to be a Boston sports fan. You wouldn't have heard me talking about how great we were in the 90's because we weren't doing shit. I was still a fan, I just wasn't cocky. Why wouldn't you gloat when your team's doing well? It's a slap in the face to all the people who downtalked them during the dark ages. That's what being a sports fan is all about and it's what every sports fan thrives for. For their team to be the best. I don't get what's so hard to comprehend about that.

    yes, you have been doing good this decade, but you don't have to be such assholes about it. you should be gracious in victory or defeat, which is something that a lot of people on this coast need to learn. Maybe I'll just move to Wisconsin to live with Packers fans, and start liking the Bucks and Brewers too.

    What do you mean this year's Celtics fans? Is there a crop rotation system or something? They're the same fans that have been fans for years, there's just extras that are classified by the die-hards like myself as fairweather or bandwagon fans. It happens with every good team...how are the Celtics any different? Just saying..don't single out Celtics fans for having bandwagon fans like it's never happened before. Look back at every great team...there were bandwagon fans everywhere. When Jordan's bulls reigned there were bandwagon fans all around the world, why don't people hate Bulls fans?

    Give credit where credit is due to the people who have stayed loyal through the good times and the bad times. The Celtics won 40% of their games in the last 10 years..if that. It hasn't always been so bright and dandy for this team.

    There are a lot of diehard Celtics fans out there, and I think most of the Celtics fans here at s2 are diehards. That being said, whoever made the points about this year's bandwagon jumping and the fact that the Celtics are the #3 team in the market was spot on. Trust me, I hate Celtics bandwagoners more than any Nets fan could ever hate them. If that's your reason for hating them, then I support your opinion 100%. Other than that, I don't think there's a lot there for you guys to hate, other than the fact that they are better than the Nets.

Because we actually support our team when they need it or because we take sports more seriously than Nets fans do and put them to shame in every way possible?</div>

    I hate Boston sports fans because most of you think you're better than everyone else, and your team is always the greatest, and that you always deserve to win everything.

    plus most of you are annoying, obnoxious jerks.
    </div>

    </div>
    I have no problem with Red Sox fans or New England fans...This year's Boston Celtics fans kinda piss me off.
    It sucks having to listen to fans trash talk other teams when those fans need to google there own team to find out about there team's history.
    </div>

    </div>
    Listen I know there is a select group of fans that are hardcore thick and thin Celtic diehards but every team has those but I can't stand people coming out of the woodworks like they've been life long Celtics fans. I hate bandwagon fans and for some reason these Boston Bandwagoners chirp louder than alot of the other bandwagoners I've seen. I'm not calliing you one. I'm just talking about a lot of these new Celtics fans in general.
    </div>
    Please, the bandwagoners should not even be considered Celtics fans.

Other than that, I don't think there's a lot there for you guys to hate, other than the fact that they are better than the Nets.</div>

    It's an interesting issue if it keeps even the smallest percentage of Celtics fans from purchasing Garnett jerseys if they're afraid that they'll be viewed that way.

    You can kiss my 26 ring-studded ass [IMG]

    Red Sox have won 3 championships in 90 years.
    They didn't even make the playoffs 2 years ago.
    They didn't even come in second. They were behind the Blue Jays

    Celtics have blown for years.

    Pats became good only a few years ago.

    26 championships between them
    Or the same amount as the Yankees.
    With 2 less franchises.

    Cowboys of the 90's > Patriots of today because:

    1) Patriots cheated to win
    2) The Cowboys held themselves back by spending time in prison, and/or doing TONS of blow
