disclaimer: I doubt San Diego can win 3 in a row. They'd need to be firing on all cylinders and the Pats would need to have a bad day. Giants/Pats. I really didn't care for the regular season game but then rooting for teams in the northeast is not my idea of a good time. Giants/Chargers. I can do w/o all the hype and rehashing of the Eli & Rivers trade. Pats/Packers. This is the combination that "experts" will be hoping for. It would be good but Parcells is in Miami & Bledsoe is modeling for statues somewhere. Packers/Chargers. The most entertaining and most evenly matched IMO, but, an alleged media nightmare because of the size of the TV markets. I'd like to see Favre win one more and retire on top.
I don't care who the Packer play, if they beat the Giants, I would just love to see Favre win it all again. That would be sweet. I bet somewhere a group of NFL executives are praying that they get a Packers-Patriots Super Bowl. Favre vs Brady. I can't say that I could really blame them.

But, I don't think SD needs to be firing on all cylinders. This is a completely different team than the team that came into New England in week 2 of the season. We don't rely on Tomlinson (hell, he didn't play over half of the game against Indy), like we did then. Philip Rivers has matured his game back to last season's form since he's secured a grasp on Norv's offense, and our defense has clicked with Cottrell's coaching. This team is light years better than the team in week 2. I'm rooting for SD, because I'm a fan, but I'm not a blind fan. I know we've got an uphill battle, but I think it's not something that's out of reach. I don't think the Patriots need to have a bad day, either. Antonio Cromartie is the best; most athletic cornerback in the league. If he can nullify Moss it would be a starting point. Phillips and Merriman also need to get pressure, something they've been great at in the second half of the season and the playoffs. The key for San Diego will be Philip Rivers...and I'm very comfortable with that. Rivers plays with a chip on his shoulder. He is very calm in clutch situations, he's the anti-Romo. He makes the big throw when it's needed most and that says a lot for his game and how far he's come under Norv since week 2.

I'm not a fan of either team (although my mom is a diehard Giant fan) and I don't see it being as close as the week 17 game. I see New England winning this one by 10+ Giants/Chargers: This game would excite me a lot. San Diego has already beaten Eli Manning once, but it would be sweet to duel it out with him on the biggest stage of them all. The Giants are a borderline great team, I think they could give San Diego a good matchup. Of course, I see SD winning this one! Patriots/Packers: If the Chargers don't make the Super Bowl, this is the matchup I'm dying to see. I firmly believe that Brett Favre has a date with destiny in winning the Super Bowl. I believe that it's his destiny to knock off the undefeated (if they make it past the Chargers) Patriots in the biggest stage in all of sports. They've got the skills to beat New England, I think it'd be one hell of a game! Green Bay in a CLOSE one! Packers/Chargers: This is the one I want to see the most. I want revenge for our loss to them earlier this season when we were still learning Cottrell's defensive schemes and Norv's offense. But it would also break my heart to root against Favre, as I want to see him hoist the championship trophy one more time. I think this game would be the best out of all the combinations. Two teams that can air the ball out, play tough defense, and can run the ball...God, I so hope this ends up being it! With all my Charger comments, please New England fans don't jump my bones. I'm not an idiot, I know that we're the underdogs; that you demolished us in week 2, but we're not the same team. If you guys win, I'll give you guys your respect and your props; if we win, I expect the same.

Millions coming in for holding a clipboard. What could be better? I'm glad Favre stuck around. I defended him against all of the doubters who said he was washed up and I'm glad he proved me right. I'm looking forward to watching him guide this young team again next year.

I want a Chargers Super bowl with wither NFC team, but who knows if thatll happen
Not that I am predicting this exactly, but I wouldn't mind a Giants/Chargers Superbowl. Out of the four teams left I feel the Chargers deserve to win the Superbowl the most, all things considered (not just talent). They play in the AFC and have to face some serious talent that dwarfs the NFC. I'll be vague and elaborate after the AFC Championship.

So much for him being washed up. If your a fan of a team not playing this weekend I don't see how your not rooting for Patriots vs. Packers. It has to much appeal to it. Wasn't Bill Belichick Parcell's defensive coordinator for Super Bowl XXXI? If so I bet that gets played up a little bit. Plus it's Brady vs. Favre and the Patriots going for the best record. Kind of David vs. Goliath type of deal too. New England is right where they were supossed to be. Green Bay isn't.
