I got to thinking with Bynum down for at least a few games and possibly a few weeks, could the Lakers make a move to secure their position and make sure they don't lose ground in the west? Do we go after Kidd, hard again and offer up Kwame, Farmar, a 1st for Kidd and a center? We don't set our eyes on Jermaine again, do we?
Teams would low ball us because of the circumstances, but I'm sure Mitch will be working the phones to find another player to suit up. The Lakers only have 14 players on the roster and three of them are out with injuries (Sasha, Radman, & Mihm). If Bynum is injured then the Lakers would only have 9 active players most of which are guards. Then you add the fact the team will be on a long ass road trip coming up they're almost forced to add another player. If it's a worst case scenario and Bynum is lost for the season then I think they should make a big move and focus on getting to a championship caliber team for next season.

But he didn't say which team he'll join. Webber told KXTV in Sacramento that he will be back in the NBA, but did not say where he was going, or to which team he was returning. He said he's narrowed his choices down to three teams, but wouldn't share them. Webber, the Detroit native from Country Day and Michigan Fab Fiver, finished his 15th season with the Pistons last year, starting at center.</div> http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...4048/0/SPORTS03 My guess is probably Detriot, Boston, or Los Angeles. I remember Brian Shaw has been trying to recruit Webber for a while now, but has had no success. I'm not a big fan of Webber, I personally think the guy is cursed (every team he has gone to has won nothing, Detriot signed him and choked last season) but if Bynum is going to be out for an extended amount of time, we might as well give him a look. He's certainly better than anything we have now. All I know is + =
