<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ainge Comfortable With Roster The Celtics aren't in a position where they will turn away from a high-quality veteran point guard should one become available. But the club won't make any panic purchases just because it's had recent problems against pressure defense. "I'm very comfortable with this roster," director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said. "When you get off to a start like this, there's a lot of factors in it -- a lot of people playing key roles. And you can't underestimate or undervalue the personalities in the locker room or the personalities on the court. So you've got to be very careful of toying with the roster under those kind of circumstances." -- Boston Herald</div>
I don't know if I buy this. This is just the way Danny handles transactions with the media, he'll never even hint at the possibility of change. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If this team was 0-36, he'd publicly state that "we're being patient with our team, I'm not looking to make any big changes." Then a week later he'd pull off a 6-player deal. I think we have holes on this team and I think Danny will address at least one of them by the trading deadline. We need a backup point guard in a big way, come playoff time. We can get by without one in the regular season, as we've seen, but having just Rajon Rondo to trust bringing the ball up against full-court pressure is not going to fly. Even then, he's just a second-year player that has never played in the postseason. I'll be damned if Tony Allen has to play the point when we're in Game 6 of a playoff series.
I agree CB, we need another PG. Tony Allen can't dribble the ball. House can't bring the ball up. And our coach is a moron.

How hard is it to dribble the ball up the court, cross the halfcourt line and then dump the ball into KG?

Tony Allen stops my heart every time he dribbles, Eddie House gets swallowed up despite his speed, Ray gets it across but then always gets trapped in the corner, and Pierce's ball handling is solid but still a bit erratic for my liking. He's not a guy I'd trust taking the ball up and getting this team into a set. But you nailed it about Garnett. It doesn't make sense to me why we don't run more through KG, like we did in the beginning of the year. Force-feed the ball to KG and cut - bam. Apparently the team thinks we're better off chucking contested three's...

In fact, just thinking about it, I see him being stipped and falling on the floor trying to follow the player that stole it from him... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ Jan 15 2008, 11:28 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (aquaitious @ Jan 15 2008, 11:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I agree CB, we need another PG. When Antoine did it here, he got ridiculed for it. Scalabrine + Tony Allen for Antoine Walker!!! Get it done Danny!
