<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Mike James, who was heralded as a significant addition to the roster when the Rockets obtained him in a trade for Juwan Howard last June, has not played in five of the past six games. He got 21 minutes in the rout of Minnesota on Friday. "It's not my decision," James said. "It's coach's (Rick Adelman) decision. So I've got to sit down with him and find out what's going on and take it from there. ... It's kind of bothering me to think that somebody thinks your basketball career is over and they put you on the bench. I haven't been on the bench since my rookie year. But things happen. I really liked the Rockets bringing him back, but he's been a huge disappointment. Adelman's offense is designed for a player like Mike James and with all the injuries to TMac and overall weak guard play, there were several opportunities for James to grab a bulk of the minutes in the backcourt.
Guy's a ballhog, plain and simple. Ball movement stops right when the ball hits his hand, and when he can't make shots, he's useless on the court. Sure, his ability to get to the basket is appreciated but the fact that he won't pass the ball once he decides to drive to the hoop cancels that out. My opinion? Let him sit.
You can't afford to sit Mike James, not with his contract. The best thing the Rockets can do is showcase him and hope some team takes him off their hands.
