    Jefferson Wants More Running Partners
January 15, 2008, 12:11 pm Since he came into the league seven years ago, Richard Jefferson has become a more well-rounded player, but his forte has always been running the floor. “The more you run, the harder you run, the more likely good things are going to happen,” RJ says. And while he had plenty of running partners when he first came into the league, he’s still trying to convince his current teammates to join him on the break.

Sean, Josh, Antoine, Boki should all be running with him. I'm sorta disappointed in those guys.

It's great that RJ runs, they need it, and he needs more people along side him, but it'd be nice if he could grab some defensive rebounds every now and then, rather than cherry picking. And why must he always be on the right side? How about mixing it up a little and trying the left?

“That’s how our team was set up. It was Kerry (Kittles), it was me, it was Kenyon (Martin), guys like Lucious Harris who ran the floor well. He wasn’t the best athlete or the fastest guy but he understood that if he ran hard, consistently good things were going to happen. We didn’t have a bunch of high-scoring guys on our team. My first couple of years I think our leading scorer averaged probably 14 or 15 (points). But in order for us to get points or shots, we had to run the floor. That’s how you were going to get your extra attempts. And it’s something that I’ve just carried over. But also, two: having Jason Kidd helps. Having him on the floor makes all the difference. If you don’t have him passing you the ball, a lot of those fast break points get cut in half.”

I'm glad Jefferson is saying this. I have been saying this for years. This is exactly why Vince Carter's game does not fit with Jason Kidd's. It does not mean Vince is or isn't a good or bad player. It ONLY means that his game does not fit with Kidd's.

The Nets were one win away from the Championship with a 16pt high scorer and a running offense. Say what you want about their half court woes: they were were so bad that they went to 2 straight finals and were 1 game away from a 3rd final...

I wished those rumors of JR Smith were true back last year. If I'm not mistaken, he loves to run.

Skittles, K-mart etc.. were all finishers as well and knew how to space the floor on the break. they knew how to get themeselves into spots where Kidd would find them. thats such an underrated part of a fast break, the spacing on the floor. Wright and boki just run into each other and dont know where to be. RJ isnt as fast as he once was. also, we had bigs who could start the break and finish back then to, Kmart, Atrain, KVH could all run fast and Deke/Zo/Tmac could all start it with there rebounding. hell, Kmart could grab the board and beat everyone down the floor, now we have Cowlins, magloire, malik, krstic...tree trunks

i honestly beleive thorn still values wright over jr smith. i wish we could get smith tho, he's just the type of athlete we need. **** his background, this team need help and is in no position to get picky over players.

Said that about Kidd and VC's game from Day 1. Agreed not a shot at Kidd nor VC, but at the head of personnel.....Thorn. Games just don't fit. I'd love to parlay VC into Raja Bell and Diaw.
