I personally don't like the Larry Hughes part but we get rid of a long term contract in VC for a short contract

no... if we're going to take Hughes off Clevelands hands, we could get much more back than Gooden. I wouldn't look at a trade with Cleveland unless we get Gibson back.

Hughes was actually built out of tin foil.

I'd rather switch Carter with Wright and then they add James.

Yes, because as we all know, Vince will be so much better on the Queens.

Larry Hughes is horrible, and I believe he is still owed a TON of money over 3 years. Carter is light years ahead of that guy, and Gooden wouldn't make it a good deal either.

I've never understood why people would actually give up decent players and want to get back Drew Gooden. Maybe it's that hair patch thing he was sporting for a while.

Yeah, I agree. Hughes must have been one of the worst 10 signings this past decade.

Because of the current/recent big man situation?

He would help off the bench, but I wouldn't want to give up any legit rotation players to get him. His defense is still pretty much non existant. Giving up VC just to get the contracts of both Gooden and Hughes doesn't make much sense to me.

Do it. Hughes is a two guard, he's a finisher on the break, he can defend points. Kittles, brittle? Gooden is a nice add too. Don't know if Sac would want VC, though they are suffering their worst attendance season since moving to Sac.

This trade is horrible for the Nets. Why the hell would we trade an allstar guard for trash that comes up with a huge price tag and a power forward which is above average at best? Gooden is a good piece but we can do better if we are trading Carter, or at least get him and another good piece. Guess what? Hughes is not that good piece: he cant shoot, his man defense is below average, brittle, and he is an average slasher. Jones is a bench player at best.

So lets review: Vince and Magloire for Gooden, a bench player, and garbage?

It's a bit too soon for that. Plus what if Jordan is picked before we get a shot at him?

like I said I dont like Hughes as a player and yes he has a bad contract but the mere fact that we can get rid of an aging player and 4 yr contract for a 2 yr contract + a 1 yr contract.
