Nets Bring In John Lucas to Work With Williams
January 15, 2008, 4:45 pm John Lucas, who helped Sean Williams prepare for the draft in Houston, was at Nets practice on Tuesday at the request of Lawrence Frank, putting Marcus Williams through drills. Lucas was there to help his fellow lefty point guard get back in shape and get his timing back. Meanwhile, Antoine Wright (ankle) and Darrell Armstrong (Achilles) are both questionable for Wednesday?€™s game against the Knicks.

Didn't cpawfan call this one? I'm trying to remember a thread about mimicking the way that the Lakers helped bring Bynum along. Although I'm pretty sure we were talking about / hoping that it would be about the other Williams

From what I read he pushed Marcus extremely hard during the works outs, hopefully it helps good call by Frank to bring Lucas in

I had asked the question should teams start doing what the Lakers did by having an individual coach focus on young player to increase the speed of development.

I'm glad to see that the Nets are trying this because Marcus needs all the help he can get.
