LEBRON SCORES 51, IS PRETTY GOOD Andrew Bynum Coming into the season, most people believed this would finally be the year LeBron led the league in scoring. They approached him with the possibility. "That guy in L.A. is not going to let anyone," LeBron answered, hoping to be both respectfully deferential and endearingly humble. But fast forward – or take your time, whatever – to Tuesday. Well, Monday, actually, when Kobe scored 48 points in Seattle to draw within 1.5 points of LeBron for the scoring lead, who was averaging a league-best 29.1 ppg. LeBron must have seen Kobe combust for 48, making the deficit seem surmountable, because, on Tuesday, he countered in an overtime win in Memphis by scoring 51 points. His timing was adorably transparent. See, LeBron's remark made it sound like he had resigned to the fact that he was up against a superior foe for the scoring title and generally not concerned with the whole thing. 1. Yeah, right. 2. It's okay, LeBron; don't be shy! You're allowed to let yourself not let that guy in L.A. not let anyone have the scoring title. (You know what I mean.) That scoring crown is fit for a King. WTF does this mean? What does 'the scoring crown is fit for a king' mean? Kobe deserves the crown equally with LBJ and the other top scorers. Thoughts...
Wow, what does this have to do with hating on Kobe? If you look at the stats, LeBron does have the highest PPG in the league. Hes been the better scorer this year. Honestly it's not that big of a deal, all LeBron said is that Kobe is a better scorer. And the media is trying to make something of it. He has better things to aim for, like a trip back to the Finals, than win a scoring title.
The media is trying to create another storyline pitting LeBron against Kobe. This happens every season with Kobe. TMac v. Kobe Wade v. Kobe LeBron v. Kobe The constant in every debate is always Kobe. You never hear people compare TMac or Wade to Kobe anymore.
LeBron may be a king, but even a king isn't immune to the Mamba's bite. lol. Lebron-basketball king Kobe-basketball GOD AMEN

I have said that time and time again. Thats the true indication of greatness right there... he is always compared to the next best thing until he proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is better and then its on to the newest best thing.
Perhaps an interesting angle on this is that both players went from HS to the pros. Kobe's been the best all-round player in the game for years, and the expectations are that LBJ will become the best. The question is when, and another question is "why not now?" - the latter being the question I see asked in the article in the first post. So far, LeBron has been the best player for his age in the history of the NBA (better than Jordan at the age of 22, better than Kobe, too). Why not now? is a good question.

Here is his 1981-82 numbers: 18.6 ppg, 53.7 FG%, 9.6 rpg, 9.5 apg, 2.7 spg, 3.8 TOpg. Played 78 games. Lebron James turned 22 this december. So the season would be this season 07-08. 29.8 ppg, 48.7 FG%, 7.7 rpg, 7.5 apg, 2.0 spg, 3.3 TOpg. Up to now, played 33 games. Kobe turned 22 in August 2000. Here are his 2000-01 numbers: 28.6 ppg, 46.4 FG%, 5.9 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.7 spg, 3.2 TOpg. Played 68 games. MJ turned 22 in Feb 1985. He only played 18 games in 1985-86 so also gave 86-87. 22.7 ppg, 45.7 FG%, 3.6 rpg, 2.9 apg, 2.1 spg, 2.5 TOpg. Played 18 games. 37.1 ppg, 48.2 FG%, 5.2 rpg, 4.6 apg, 2.9 spg, 3.3 TOpg. Played 82 games.

Like Shape said, you can compare anybody to Kobe...but he's still the best. Only one player survives those arguments and battles..and his name isn't LeBrick...it's Kobe.

He is the best small player in the world (I'd tie him with Duncan).
