    we could blame the bench but the starters were in the game in the beginning of the third.

    RJ was the one who fouled Zach with 38 seconds and the nets down by three.

    Kidd missed the three.

    The bench did not perform as expected or needed but this game was still winnable. The Nets as mediocre teams usually do found a way to lose it.
    </div>

    But the starters built a lot of positive momentum in the first quarter and the Knicks were ripe to get blown out in the first half. The bench comes in and they didn't build on the momentum and put the Knicks away in the first half. The Knicks just hung around for long enough and eventually made a run to get back within 3 by the half. That NEVER should have happened.
    </div>

    true but at the same time the same starters that gave the Nets that great lead in the first were unable to duplicate the same play in the third.

    The game was still in the Nets hands. The Nets were not playing a contender or even a good team. They were playing the Knicks and as the game showed the Nets were able to come back from being down 15 they were not just able to finish.

    My point is it would be wrong to just put this on the bench. This game was still winnable.
    </div>

    Nah, it never should have come to the starters coming out in the 3rd quarter and rebuilding the lead again. And even if the Nets managaed to win by a few late in the 4th it would still have been disappointing.

    After that first quarter I was expecting a complete laugher of a game and a 25-30 point lead for the Nets with Knicks fans heading for the exits at the half. Just completely disgusting.

    Are you really trying to compare the Nets bench to the Knicks bench?

    Yes the Knicks are poorly constructed and poorly coached. Yes the Nets are poorly constructed too, but the Nets poor construction includes a crappy bench. The Knicks are poorly constructed with too much duplicative talent, emphasis on talent.

    Bench vs Bench, the Knicks win every time

    Normally I don't expect them to hold onto leads but after the first quarter where they dominated the Knicks I was expecting a real blowout in the first half.

    you have to be kidding!</div>

    The problem that I have is that I'm not too informed on the coaching strengths of any of our staff. The best I can say is that I'm not sure Cartwright has the energy to light a fire under the butt of these underachievers, but that's really it.
