Oliver Kahn says he cannot understand Lehmann's decision

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>MARBELLA, Spain (AFP) - Jens Lehmann's decision to stay as second choice 'keeper with Arsenal and not accept the chance of playing for Borussia Dortmund's first team is bizarre admitted his former bitter rival Oliver Kahn on Wednesday.

Kahn - whose relations with Lehmann cooled even further at the 2006 World Cup when the Arsenal stopper replaced him as first choice goalkeeper for Germany - claimed that to go into Euro 2008 without much playing time at first team level was dangerous.

"At this level of the sport, to play at a tournament like Euro without playing regularly is dangerous," said Kahn, who is here with his Bayern Munich team-mates for their mid-winter break.

"I am finding it hard to understand why Lehmann is not trying to find a club where he can play," added Lehmann, who retired from international duty after Germany finished third at the World Cup and is in his final season as a professional player.

Lehmann has only played four times this season for Arsenal, but has been left warming the bench after Gunners coach Arsene Wenger lost his patience with his habit of making glaring errors and made Manuel Almunia his first choice.

Lehmann turned down an offer from Borussia Dortmund of a six month contract for personal reasons - but Kahn believes that could prove fatal to the Arsenal player's chances of being German coach Joachim Loew's first choice.

"Jens is certainly good enough, but the question is whether the fact that he has not played enough this season against top level opponents will show itself at Euro 2008," said Kahn, who was a member of the German side that reached the 2002 World Cup final.

"In the past it would have been unthinkable that the German 'keeper would be simply number two at his club.

"I think that Jens is aware of this problem."

Germany are in Group B at Euro 2008 - which takes place in Austria and Switzerland from June 7-29 - along with Croatia, Poland and Austria.</div>

I must agree with the Ogre. I like him and all he's a great Keeper but when you think about it is he even our 2nd choice keeper. He's on the bench at Premier league games but when the Carling Cup comes it's Fabianski in goal with Vito Mannone as Sub.

Yeah, he had a chance to get some playing time at Dortmund, and be at home but I guess he likes getting paid for doing nothing.

I really think Germany will not bring him on as their keeper at the Euro 08.

I think he'll still be first choice for Germany. He still trains and you think each team has about 3 weeks Pre-training before a mojor tournament so he will regain his confidence and Composure and will remain Germany's No.1
